The "Ghost of Kiev" is dead, claims Ukraine

Ukraine is claiming 29 year old Maj. Stepan Tarabalka is the Ghost of Kiev, and that he was killed in combat "against overwhelming odds". They're also claiming that he shot down... wait for it... 49 enemy aircraft.
Forty. Nine.
Yeah, no. Complete and utter bull$#!t.
I doubt the Russians have lost that many fixed wing aircraft in the entire war.
Of course, I don't think the "Ghost" ever existed at all. I think he was a Colonel Tomb-type PR creation, such as the North Vietnamese used, and the Ukrainians just plugged this guy in.
