America's peak was from 8/15/1945-11/23/1963. It has been downhill since Lyndon Johnson took over, only slowed by Reagan and Trump.
Very interesting as you have the signing of civil rights and voting rights legislation as the end of the "peak"

Having read through this thread, it's more clear than ever that the biggest challenge we face is how f'n soft and semi-retarded the Right has become. What a bunch of whiny pussies - thinking everything sucks, the Leftists are all-powerful, and there's nothing us poor conservatives can do because the other side cheats and lies and are meanies.
Joe, Nancy, Chuck, BLM, permanent government, teachers unions, planned parenthood, the media, Hollywood - have any one of them done anything that really surprises you? No, they're Leftists. They do what Leftists do, and this isn't new. What's new is how enthusiastic the Right has become about losing and how quickly it embraces victimhood, something we used to ridicule the Left for.
By way of stupidity and laziness, we have taken all the advantages and turned them into a losing hand. There are more of us than there are of them. We are smarter, better educated, have more money and are far more capable. These are facts. Moreover, we're on the right side of history because at the end of the day, the American ideals of liberty, security and competitive capitalism are winners versus the bullshite the progressive Left advocates today.
I don't think we're seeing the fall of the US. I think we're seeing the exposing of the Right, and thank God for that. In the end, the Right will rise up and adults will take back control of the country - that'll start as soon as we stop whining and grow a pair.

Certainly. There is little doubt our best days are behind us.

The fall of a 50 state union? Possible.
Is it possible we split into 3 or 4 countries and amicably trade and defend one another? Possible.
I don’t see a peaceful way back. We’ve given communists and authoritarian Marxists far too much power and influence. Those types end up breeding true believers and they understand nothing but violence and death.

Yep. We have more to lose, more value on life, and more understanding of the horrific undertaking that is war.
It’s going to take a monumentally violent event to push into war, but when that push comes all semblance of sympathy and all possibility of peace or compromise is revoked. You slaughter your enemy and salt the earth his family walks upon.

Yes.
The question is how far the fall will be and is there enough people left that love this country to prevent it from falling totally apart.

Then it would be wise for us to take care of this shite before it comes to an armed conflict.
Frankly, the Righties that hide behind “buy more ammo” are as big a part of the problem as RINOs are.

Try to remember back like 15 years ago to the late Bush Administration. Try to remember what the kookiest conspiracy theorists were warning about. Think about the vision of the dystopian future they imagined, of all of the control the government would take from us, how privacy and freedom would be eliminated and dissent rooted out. Now compare their “paranoid ramblings” to what we’ve witnessed over the past few years with wikileaks showing how our government spies on its citizens without a warrant, how opposition politicians and media members are spied on with secret warrants using knowingly falsified evidence, how our justice system has been completely corrupted, how our freedoms have been stripped in the name of a relatively benign virus, how degeneracy has been framed as virtue, how the ordinary has been made shameful, how people fear voicing their true opinions out of legitimate fear of physical and employment reprisals, etc. We are living in the paranoid conspiracy theorist dystopia most people used to scoff at. We are living in the end game of America’s constitutional representative republic system.

Who is going to fight who in this civil war?
I agree we are in a fall, but our differences are not territorial. We are not divided into regions like North vs South.
Maybe we see suburbs vs inner city?
But explain to me what you see taking place in a new civil war.

Kinda hard for conservatives to fight back when they are vastly outnumbered in politics, religion, social media, the news media, financial institutions such as the banks and credit card companies, medical, pharmaceutical, all types of insurance companies, big box retailers, all types of education, Hollywood, food, drink, automotive companies, clothing products, sports and now the military.
The only things left are the populist movement in a party full of rinos and the second amendment. Conservatives are the underdogs.

Some unfortunate and miserable souls see Racism everywhere.
Other rational people see the date of 11/23/63 as the assassination of a US President who loved his Country and in his short time as President, put American First time and time again.
Despite your Hero Democratic Senators who filibustered the Civil Rights Act, the Republicans got it through. However, this has nothing to do with that.
OP referring to LBJ being a corrupt human being and his ratchetting up of our involvement in Nam and enabling the MIC to begin their influence and graft and buying of Politicians that Ike warned us about just 4 - 5 years prior.
I don't see racism but some are brainwashed to see it everywhere.

You should probably read a little more into who supported secession. It was not just a North vs South geographical fight. It was an ideological war and had Lincoln not done some rather unscrupulous things, states like New York and Connecticut might have joined the confederacy. And many members of families fought on different sides of the war because of ideological differences. A modern civil war would probably be the same and would probably be fairly horrific in death toll.
As to the Op yes America is on the decline and will fall. our best days are probably behind us. Even if we survive we will be greatly diminished.
As to the person who said Trump will save us all. If Trump is reelected it would probably only speed up the downfall as the left absolutely would not tolerate a second Trump presidency.

I hope so, but people are going to have to get their head around the fact that it won't look like anything that's come before it. The surveillance state is too powerful to gather together and plot against it. This will have to be a popular uprising by individuals and small, tight groups doing small cuts to the giant till it falls. A viral resistance that everyone can and should participate in once it gets rolling.
Random Acts of Patriotism.
It starts with knowing who the enemy is that's in your reach.

I did not bring up the civil war, I just pointed to regions of the country. Of course ideology is driving our divides. But it would be very difficult to have “sides” if there aren’t some sort of boundaries or territories to fight over.
Maybe we see just all out chaos like Portland had, but with armed bloodshed.
But a full out civil war, not gonna happen.
