Finland and Denmark criticized Spain and suggested a number of acts including temporarily suspending them from the zone

Italy announced a one-month suspension of free movement checks from Spain. This is something routinely done by Schengen countries when they have border issues. The ability to do so for a temporary period is part of the actual Schengen Agreement, not a suspension of it. And checks only apply to non-EU passports, EU citizens will still walk on by
