Tell me about the subsidies. Don’t be scared to be specific.

That's the difference I notice between the left and right — just because I am doing ok doesn't mean I remove myself from the other 90% of Americans who are struggling day to day.

If it's impossible to get a comfortable wage...... how did you do it?

The same as your top 5% claim. To be in the top 5% of households, one only needs to make $170K. That is probably closer to what you make and think that is in the top 5% of individual wage earners, but it's not close.

No, that's not what I meant. I was speaking individually--not including any of my wife's income.

Unless you are a heart surgeon, CEO, or a partner in a large law firm, you aren't pulling in $350K on a W2, dude

Just stop.

Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth.

The typical American household could work more than 11 TRILLION years and never sniff Elon Musks level of wealth because they don’t work like Elon does.

I like your new posting style of not engaging these people and just throwing jabs at them

I never said I was balling.

I can work 1000 years at my current pay and not come close to being as rich as the people we are discussing.

I don't think we should take anything from anyone--but I definitely do not think we should be subsidizing their industries with our tax money.

Many on here used to call Elon a welfare queen until he switched sides this year.

The issue is I've had a tax paying job since I was 14 years old. I'm not anywhere near retirement age, but I have busted my arse to achieve the 6 figure salary I have without a College Education.

I actually cheer people like Elon for the grind they have put in to get what they have. The truth is others would 100% take the same path if they had thought about it or had the fortitude to do it.

People like Elon pay 38.4% of all of income taxes. The top 1% accounts for more federal income tax paid than the bottom 95% of earners combined.
So guess what, there is no wage gap. There is a tax gap.

People pitting people against one another do it just to distract you. Namely people in DC who make a six figure salary for 4-6 years and then come home multi-millionires. But that part bothers nobody.

I've got an idea. Elon can take his trillion dollars and divide it by the 9 Billion people on earth and then mail each of us a check. Then subtract the money not deliverd because the post office lost it. How many people would be lifted out of poverty?

I agree with 80% of what you typed here. But even Elon's businesses are heavily subsidized by our tax dollars.

Elon was broke all the way to zero in 2008 and had to beg and borrow to keep Tesla alive.

The thing about people like Elon is that even if he had gone belly up in 2008, he would still be one of the world's richest people today because he would have gone on to something else. He's a generational human up there with Henry Ford, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, da Vinci, etc

Just a rare person that the world is blessed with every so often.

Not necessarily, but let's say for the sake of argument that it is a problem.

So what? It has nothing to do with 1% of the population making lots of money.
