Remember when they killed one of the best Generals to ever wear a uniform because he wanted to vanquish the communist regime that murdered millions of it's own? How much money did the US government piss away on the "cold war" to fill the pockets of people who already had more wealth than they knew what to do with? Power. That word is all. Not exactly
75% of the Cheka was Jewish, and the Bolshevik leadership was largely Jewish as well. The early waves of mass murder, and the systemic use of torture and rape against civilians, was driven by ethnic hatred and a desire for perceived revenge against the Slavs. If you look at the really nasty characters, especially early on, they were largely Jewish, look at Trotsky, Kun, Sverdlov, Yagoda.
On a per capita basis, they were the greatest mass murders of the 20th century, and in terms of overall deaths second to probably only the Chinese.
Others were involved in the mass murders of course, but it’s notable how few of them were Russian. Dzerzhinsky was Polish and Stalin was Georgian for example. Importantly, both were minorities.

A prof interviewed by Konstantin Kisin had a great example. Someone wrote a book uncovering the fable that Viking warriors were male. They were transsexuals, women dressed as men. The proof? Well, they had long blonde hair.

Logic would imply, and no less than hard circumstantial evidence would suggest, that the "history" you crave to save was also revisionist and authored to fit the victors narrative of it. We don't know what the hell happened aside from the winners and everyone being dead at some point after.
But I do agree it's happening and that it's important to preserve as much as possible to allow future generations the ability to form their own opinion like we've been granted the ability to do.

That is just an argument, not what OP is discussing.
Your example would only work if we didn't have access to the Bible to review the text to discuss the argument directly. When was the Bible "scrubbed" in that way?

The old books find their way disappearing from library shelves and stop getting printed. The wikipedias start sourcing the "updated" version and mothballing the sources with old thinking.
