The disaster in Texas

How does this sort of thing happen? Not just one race, but up and down the board an absolute beat down. I have a few theories about what is likely to end up being a 20-25% swing in only two years.
1. ICE - regardless of whether people think they are doing a good job or not, the perception, especially by Hispanics is that they are targeting minorities regardless of whether they are legally in the country. Trump won with Hispanics because he talked about closing the border, something that they want. The Rs lost majorly with Hispanics because of ICE’s treatment of people in their communities.
2 - Trump wins because people like him and he tends to try and run on policy. The right nominated some unlikable people and ran on what the Dems were doing to hurt you “transing kids”, “sharia law”, etc. and not how they were actually going to help people.
3. The top Dems (Talarico, Hinojosa) ran on unity and not division. Both of them in their speeches tonight mentioned how they are going to be the representative for all Texans, not just those that vote and look like them. Both have talked about keeping the Democratic Party accountable, because on party rule has hurt Texans. I think that resonates.
4. Bo French - I think his tweet after the Texas/OSU game was disastrous and did not help with non-white voters in the slightest.
5. War on Iran - probably should go higher, but I’m tired at this point
6. No debates from Abbott, Paxton, or Patrick - it’s incredibly embarrassing that the top 3 people up for office in this election refused to debate their opponents. They didn’t think it would matter and they’d coast to victory. I think they regret it now.
Obviously there is a lot more about individual races. I could talk about the Republicans deciding to nominate Paxton with all his baggage for a while, but I tried to keep this more general.
I know a blue wave as a whole made a difference, but curious if anyone has an any additional thoughts here.

Texas is a bunch of blowhards that talk a big game and don’t do shite.
That’s how things happened.

Dems won every statewide election in TX (let that sink in). Regardless of whether the candidate was bad (e.g., Paxton) or debated or other. They simply voted for the dem candidates wholesale.
IMHO, the biggest factor was Trump's mouth made promises his @ss didn't keep. Had Trump dealt swiftly and purposefully with Iran, no one would've cared. It would've been seen as a positive, i.e., Trump don't around. Does what he says.
Instead, it turned into this protracted volley of cease fires, threats, rinse and repeat. And gas prices continued to increase which just underscored Trump's not a man of his word.

Hispanics and Iran are the biggest reasons in Texas.

We Texans just got sick and tired of the grift. And Trump barging in and running Cornyn out to back the most unlikeable politician in our state was the final straw. Abbott doing dick nothing didn’t help either.

Do you think Cornyn would've won tonight? Republicans lost every statewide race in Texas.

So you elected a bunch of progressive f****** who want to tax your f****** a** off. Who wants your little girls to see dicks in their locker rooms who want you to use pronouns? What the f*** kind of logic is that?

If this translates to presidential elections, you can pretty much say goodbye to a Republican being president in the future.

People born in America in general are also the minority here. The Hispanics have been here a while but the middle eastern and Asian immigrants have flocked here as well. Dfw alone has like 5 mosques. All that "Traditional Texas" stuff is long gone. That isnt even counting the people from California that have been coming here in waves for the last 5-10 years. Ironically because they can no longer afford to live where they voted for this shite. Republicans didnt do themselves any favors but this isnt the Texas you read about in history books.

Candidly, no. But it would’ve been a lot tighter than it was.

Literally nobody asked for that. Turn off OAN and go outside every now and again.
The only people that talk about trans people are republicans. It’s weird.
Do I want Elon to get his balls taxed off? Hell yeah, dude just dropped a quarter billion of his own money to influence Texas elections. Not one person should have the ability to do that.
Nobody’s coming for your $80k w-2. Relax.

I also think the redistricting screwed the GOP in Texas. Those districts are majority Hispanic who voted for Trump in 2024. They flipped to the dems this time.

So you are a petty envious piece of shite? You deserve everything you are going to get. I will laugh at you all the way.

What happened tonight vindicates everything he was saying.
Republicans have been importing gazillions of Indians who vote overwhelmingly against them.
Solve the problem, don't pander to it.

Envious of Elon musk? The guy that couldn’t win any election he backed after dropping the equivalent of what the New York Yankees payroll is? Why would I be envious of that? Do you realize how big of a loser you have to be to STILL LOSE in a game that is won with money?
I make plenty of money, thanks. But I do get enjoyment seeing you squirm as you peddle propaganda Matt gaetz fed you.
Go back inside your trailer before you lose signal.

Totally reeks of security.

Insecure about…? More like confounded that you guys actually fell for the grift as hard as you did. I’m more just amazed.
Sad for you, really.

Indians were trending to voting 45% Republican bby 2024, down from 70% Democrat until the racists pushed them back to the Democrats
American companies want H1Bs
Their kids are birthright Americans
is Trump going to cancel all their visas and get ICE to go Door to Door for non criminal illegals overstaying a Visa?

I just can't fathom how voting liberal/democrat is ever the right answer
