Why is only the R's that must give in to the D's? The D's have driven us so far left by the R's caving and giving in that JFK would be a right wing conservative today. But yeah, let's give in some more.

Do some research on how this works. It’s partly a RINO problem but also a “getting reelected” problem. The grift of politicians have doomed us.

Ending the legislative filibuster would be a massive boon for dems

It would be the same boon for the Republicans. In fact, it would completely favor the Republicans. At least until the mid terms if not beyond.

Republicans could change that rule today

No, because Dems would do the same and change the rule to suit them when they're the majority.

Is that how it works?

That is totally incorrect.

With the exception of perhaps immigration and education, the filibuster primarily constricts the Democratic Party, because the Democratic Party generally is the party that favors major new laws, bills, reforms, etc.

The following things are all restricted by the filibuster:

Gun control
Health care
Minimum wage increase
Voting laws
Path to citizenship
Right to work bans
Abortion

Someone does not understand how the senate rules work. The nuclear option is not available for the vote.

It is absolutely available for this vote. It can't be used as a one trick pony just for this bill like it was for the confirmation. They would have to eliminate the filibuster first and then hold the vote on the funding bill

Someone does not understand that no one is going to eliminate the filibuster because of the danger to our republic.

Except they don’t control any branch of government.

Democrats narrative but you can’t be that stupid. The Senate requires a 60 yea vote to close debate. Did you pass civics in high school?
