Great post. I bet the OP won't address this. There's way too much logic in your words.

And there you have it. Because you might wet yourself at the very thought of using a gun, you want to stop everyone else from having the ability to defend themselves with one.

Don't worry, Nancy, there are plenty of people out there with guns who will protect you if the need arises as long as people who think like you don't take those guns away.

And police need to get better at recognizing a "good guy with a gun" situation, but in this case, your method would be to put those 100 at risk to avoid even the possibility of the cops shooting a good guy with a gun.

Hard pass.

At least Trump started the conversation.

Now find a solution which does not include taking away rights of American citizens.

Good job writing a wall of text that literally no one in this thread agrees is the right answer.

I mean did you purposefully ignore all the responses in here that specifically said it would be voluntary and require extra training?

I think arming teachers is almost as bad of an idea as prohibiting certain makes of rifles.

Neither come close to addressing the underlying issue.

Antibiotics don’t address the epidemiology or cause of disease.

Broken Homes?

I think the over-prescribing of psychotropic drugs and the oppression of natural male aggression which permeates our school system are the catalyst for most of these actions. But, certainly, broken homes are another important variable.

I agree if we're talking arming all teachers. But I think the Texas approach has merit.

The underlying issue will never be addressed, because to do so takes a willingness to have the types of hard conversations that simply aren't allowed these days.
