The danger of school teaches with firearms
Police in Amarillo shot an innocent man who helped foil a possible church shooting.

The shooting happened shortly after 9 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Faith City Mission, a faith-based outreach organization. Police said Joshua Len Jones, 35, of Amarillo, barged into a church building at Faith City Mission, pulled out a gun and was holding about 100 congregants and church staff hostage.

In the time between when police were dispatched and when officers arrived, a handful of churchgoers wrestled Jones to the ground. One of the congregants was able to grab Jones' gun.

18 states allow it in some form or another in K-12 schools.

re: The danger of school teaches with firearms
Funny, your OP has nothing to do with armed teachers.

But thanks for starting because I just saw this on the news:

LINK

quote:

A CNN report found that 170 districts in the state of Texas have policies allowing teachers or administrators to exercise their right to bear arms on campus.

The Texas Education Agency reported in 2014 that there are 1,247 public school districts across the state. That means less than 14 percent of districts exercise concealed carry policies.

The CNN report followed one district in a rural community north of Dallas where a program not only arms teachers, but it includes annual training on handling active shooters.

There is a sign outside of schools in their district that reads: “Please be aware that certain staff members at Calisburg ISD are armed and may use whatever force is necessary to protect our students.”

There are school districts all over the country who have been doing this for years.

How many teachers have inadvertently shot or killed innocent students at these schools?

I am gonna guess zero. Feel free to research it if anyone disagrees.

Another filth talking point btfo by facts.

Sure, risks exist.
But it’s long past time that teachers and kids were given a fighting chance against lunatics.
For the record, our teachers in Texas have voluntarily been choosing to arm themselves for years.
Don’t want to carry? That’s fine too.

re: The danger of school teaches with firearms
So how does this relate to the thousands of K-12 schools in 18 States that have armed teachers and faculty? NY Police shot 9 bystanders in a single incident not too long ago. Couple of worthless Sheriff's deputies couldn't even put themselves in a position to shoot a bystander in the course of possibly stopping a mass murderer. Are you trying to prove your stupidity and poor ability to put things in proper context?

One kid could be accidentally shot by a teacher.

17 WERE KILLED where NO teachers had guns.

Cops DID have guns and DIDN'T use them.

BTW, more were injured because NO TEACHERS WERE ALLOWED TO HAVE WHAT THE COPS DIDN'T USE.

Well, we already know the dangers of them NOT being armed, don't we?

I just don't get it. You're clearly a smart guy, yet you think one of the best solutions against violence is to disarm innocent civilians. It's just baffling to me how anyone w/ above a 90 IQ can have such a view.

The danger is that eventually someone will use them

re: The danger of school teaches with firearms
Two things.

First off thank you for the kind words.

Seooncly, becayse they are not trained. That is is.

I am not anti-gun per se. I will not use one because it is just not my style. But I fear I would drop the damn thing and shoot off my private part or big toe or something.

Is Mrs Madison the 56 year old librarian at Washington High School in bunblee Maryland capable of doing what you want? There is no way.She will get killed. Or kill and innocent.

Some of you guys think every male in the world, including every teacher is Clint Easwwood or Rambo.

You underestimate how many people in the word are pansies.

Pssst... The school board would never allow a librarian, such as you described, to carry a weapon.

The school board can choose to allow no one to carry.

By the way, they DO get trained, above and beyond what's required for the carry license that starts the process.

Any other ignorance you need cleared up?

I haven't seen anybody want to arm all teachers. You're just making stuff up now.

"Let's arm teachers" does not equal "let's arm all teachers."

re: The danger of school teaches with firearms

Nobody would force teachers to carry guns. It would just be up to them if they wanted. Typically, conceal carry individuals are pretty well trained. Not as well trained as military types, but much better trained than most people realize.

Even if only two or three teachers were carrying, hell if NONE of the teachers were carrying, but everyone knows there could be armed teachers, then that has to have some effect on anyone who plans on carrying out a mass murder.

Just look at how many stories we've heard about teachers covering the kids trying to protect them. You don't think one or two of those teachers would have loved to have a gun at that point in time to try their best to stop the massacre?

Me too, yup.

Will you be brave enough to admit your feas and faults on this board.

Somehow I doubt it (but I hope to be pleasantly surprised).

Again, you guys just flat out ignore how many teachers are wimpy types who teach health studies or something and the last time they saw a vagina was on their birth day.

Stop thnking the schools are populated by Stallone's.
