You really are an ignorant dufus.

The coach who was killed in Florida had a concealed carry license (but Florida doesn't allow it on campus).

Are you calling him a coward?

No.

I don't think I used the word coward in any of my posts.

If anyone is a coward it it me, I am afraid of guns.

But maybe that's just a suburban New York thing.

So chalk up your bleating to fear and ignorance? Ok, done.

Dunno why you have to insult me but whatever. Can't we be polite?

If you can find a post where I insulted you I would be happy to apologize for it.

It's pretty much bed time goodnight.

So you want to disarm the nation because you don't understand and fear guns? This is the what's wrong with most liberals. "I don't like it so let's get rid of it "

This is simply not true. You should be ashamed of yourself for perpetuating this lie.

First of all - you know that every teacher is not going to have a gun nor the responsibility of engaging a shooter, so this Mrs. Madison would not be one of the ones who was expected to be an armed protector.

BUT - let's discard those facts and do a thought experiment.

Mrs Madison is in her library with a dozen or so students - shots are heard in the hallway, getting closer to the library. Mrs Madison tells teh students to hide behind desks or in closets. The door bursts open and teh shooter walks in carrying a dreaded AR-15 and begins shooting.

NOW - in front of Mrs Madison there magically appears a handgun. Does she pick it up and try to defend her and her students? - or does she recoil in disgust that such an evil instrument of death would be offered to her? Is she thinking - what if I kill this shooter and then the cops shoot me because they see me with a gun? Is she thinking = oh, if I pick this up, the shooter may shoot me, (while rounds from the AR-15 are coming ever closer to her as she cowers behind her desk)

OR - does she - as inexperienced and mild mannered as she is - pick up that handgun and return fire - as inaccurate as it may be - toward the man who is at the moment shooting at her and has already ready killed 3 of her students.

What do you think? Is the gun in Mrs Madison's hands making the situation better or worse?

At least you're honest.

This is the reason we should start training people with guns at a young age. By the time they are teenagers, handling a gun will be second nature and they won't be scared to hold one like many liberals apparently are.

I've seen some elementary school and younger kids do some amazing things simply because their parents train them and teach them to overcome any inherent fear. We need to stop raising a nation of pansies.

Some of you guys think every male in the world, including every teacher is Clint Easwwood or Rambo.

No one is thinking this. We simply think that teachers brave enough to stand in front of their students and take bullets for them, giving up their own lives, just might be capable of handling a gun so that they don't have to make the ultimate sacrifice, even though they are willing.

I can understand your line of thinking if you grew up in a liberal big city. I grew up in East Texas. I had several teachers that were good old boys, and several of the women were tough as well. I would have had no worries about them carrying weapons. If liberals in big cities want to keep their schools as soft targets, then so be it. But that doesn't mean you should take away the right of defense from teachers that can handle the responsibility.

All my health teachers were coaches. It sounds like you just grew up in a city that promoted wimpiness.

Are there any schools that allow it? That’s really the point isn’t it?

I’m supportive of the second amendment but schools will never allow teachers to carry. If they do my kids aren’t going to any school that allows some idiot teacher to carry.

Is the OP really so ignorant as to post yet another story about law enforcement screwing up as an example of why only law enforcement should be armed?

Yeah, I think he is.

Teachers shouldn't drive a car or own a knife either. Oh my word.. the risk is dangerous. What if a teacher just snaps, and uses the car or knife against students?

So concerning. I'm so concerned. I'm so very concerned.

So because the police are incompetent private citizens shouldn’t be allowed to carry guns. Good logic

So you attempt to show the dangers of arming teachers by showing an example completely unrelated in any way?
