The controversy over some players refusing to wear the SF Giants rainbow pride hats

Is this a Seinfeld episode?
I just heard the Trump administration is going to investigate whether the religious rights of the players were violated because they were told they couldn't wear one time messages on their uniforms yet players were allowed to wear one time BLM patches on their uniforms.
The SF left wing media is acting like it's fu*ked up that Trump is supporting the players who refused to wear the rainbow pride SF Giants hat or who wore them but wrote Bible verses on them.

Who pays for the billion dollar baseball stadiums in all of these cities?

Some players just wore their regular caps.

I just heard on the local news one player refused to wear the rainbow pride hat and two players wore the rainbow pride hat but wrote a reference to a Bible verse on it. The two players were reprimanded for wearing a one time only message on their uniform because supposedly there is a rule against wearing one time only messages on your uniform. However, in the past players were allowed to wear a one time only BLM patch on their uniform.
I am glad the Trump administration is getting involved because I think if players were allowed to wear a one time only BLM patch on their uniform then the players should not have been reprimanded for wearing a one time only reference to a Bible verse on their hats.

SF is so far to the left I’m surprised it hasn’t fallen into the ocean.
They are pissed that anyone challenges the local beliefs, which they feel are morally superior.

Might be time to “take a knee” on the nfl. Again

How bout sports stay out of political and social issues. Just play the damn game in your regular uniform. You want to honor something, honor former players or coaches

“Who? Who doesn’t want to wear the rrrribon?”

I can’t wear messages on my work uniform. Then again, my company doesn’t push selective agenda’s. They should just pay a fine and consider it worth it. They can always change jobs, just like us.

They're usually hugely subsidized by the state taxpayers

I think that was his point, wasn't it?

Then this should not be a conversation. If the fans who helped pay for the stadium they play in want Bible verses on uniforms then they should be required to allow it.

I thought I could tell what direction you were going, but I was hoping for a better response than that.
I thought you were going to argue that since the franchise was so heavily subsidized by taxpayer dollars, even though it is a private organization it still ought to function in some regard like a public entity.
I didn't know if you could make that case or not, but since you brought it up I thought I'd wait and see.
I don't think a case can be made, though. The problem is that the franchise doesn't own the stadium. The city does. The franchise just leases it from the city. So it's a 100% private entity as far as I can tell. Get's to make it's own rules.
It's the fans who have the power, though. Play a few games with the ballpark as empty as the Braves ballpark was for much of the 70s/80s and they'll snap back to focusing on baseball and stop thinking so much about men grabassing each other.

BTW, he was talking about taxpayers, not necessarily fans.
