Just so you know, coronavirus is going to absolutely kill (at least in the short term) public support for free trade and open international markets.

It is an absolute outrage that 90% of our medical ingredients are produced in china. That is NATIONAL SECURITY disaster.

Yes, you know you're right, but, I'll bet you the princely sum of one-hundred Yuan that NOBODY in the US FedGov but Trump will suggest that we re-evaluate Globalist Free Trade policies, that NOBDY in mass media except for a few conservative talking heads will suggest that we re-evaluate Globalism and that ultimately the USA absolutely does not even miss a step on the path of its destiny to embrace Globalist trade and migration policies.

You'd think that this would make our national leaders and our info outlets stop to discuss whether all of this Globalism is good for us but, I tell you: no way, this will not happen. Too many important people making too many billions of dollars to stop this Gravy Train now.

No, just curious. Got a rabbit hole I can go down?
I thought it has been acknowledged already.

Someone did some DNA testing, and tied some portions to a species of bat; that bat is more than 600 miles from the outbreak epicenter. However, the infamous Chinese lab is RIGHT at ground zero.

After that came to light, I thought the Chinese government issued a statement about it "being possible" that they were working with that virus in that lab, a tech got exposed while working with lab animals, and didn't follow protocols afterwards. And thus became Patient Zero.

To be totally fair, I imagine exposure protocol in China for this sort of thing would be to go lay down in an incinerator, so I kinda understand his reluctance to self-report.

Y'know, it's a valid point.

If China is going to attempt to exist and interact with the rest of the world, they need to be held responsible for things they do.

If this virus really did slip out of one of their research labs, then it's not like some version of the flu that cranks up over there; it's more like a chemical leak that contaminates the environment. Exxon and BP have paid reparations and fines for things that were far less worldwide, and far less lethal. This shite has killed hundreds, has screwed up international economies, and God only knows how much more it will do (regardless of not ending the world, as some wanted to profess).

They need to do more than say "oops, our bad" in the UN. All trade deals everywhere need to be tied into them making some sort of restitution.

Frankly I don’t give a frick whether this was made in their lab(which I do honestly believe) or of this was due to their disgusting hygiene and eating habits.

They need to have consequences for bringing this shite on the world.
