for the 5673rd time, I ask you (Niccolo Machiavelli) to show one, single post in which I argue an ideological position inconsistent with libertarian orthodoxy.
Prediction: You won’t.
You are just a disingenuous, cowardly little eunuch.

I’m probably the 790th most insightful contributor on this forum but I’m not one to promulgate my own significance.

I was a registered libertarian, voted for Gary Johnson twice. I realized that the party didn’t really care about promoting smaller government, only defeating republicans, and thus forwarding the march towards authoritarian communism. As a result, I decided to join the GOP and infiltrate it in order to help promote libertarian concepts within the party.

Why? You lack the cerebral horsepower to grasp the difference between a preferred ideology and applying existing law.
Of course, you were also too stupid to have understood that this thread was not about libertarianism, but rather about a willingness to engage in actual discussion of substantive issues ... something you have never been seen to do.
You’re going to give yourself a stroke over what people on an anonymous message board think of you.

Which is why I got involved in party politics to try to get the GOP out of biblical nanny state policy and into promoting individual liberty in addition to economic liberty. My goal is to get the Louisiana state GOP to support full legalization of marijuana.
I would also like to eliminate the distributor model for alcohol, eliminate arbitrary restrictions on gaming, and spearhead massive licensing reform to eliminate government barriers to entry in as many industries as possible.

Noble task.
I don’t smoke myself; I respect your right to do so. I just don’t believe it’s the state’s place to tell anybody they can’t.

The GOP is more closely-aligned with our views than the Democrats, but that is not saying too very much. The simple fact is that there are far too many SoCons for us to have any luck whatsoever attempting to steer the party as a whole.
The best that we can hope for is the chance to influence the party on a handful of issues.

I’m with you outside of this. Leave my native casinos and per cap checks alone. We enjoy that extra $20,000 a year.

I believe this is changing. There are fewer and fewer of them every election cycle. The tide is shifting, and they know it.

I like to think of them as posters who represent what I believe and cherish, but have the wherewithal and civility to articulate their positions rather than being a sarcastic, pseudo-witty bastard.
Shout out to all of my localistic, libertarian, Southern agarian brothers.

So what if I like both in-depth discussions and unadulterated silliness? IMO, goofy memes are as big an attraction as the more serious discussions. This is entertainment for me. In short, this board offers both types of music: Country AND Western.

quote:Little known fact. Country Music (from the southeast) and Western Music (from the west) were once genres completely distinct from one another ... hillbilly music vs cowboy music. After WW2, the same radio stations began playing both genres, and the distinction faded over a period of decades.

Country vs Western
quote:
If you want to listen to "western" music that is not "country" music, I recommend the "Western Swing" music of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, who were at their height in the 1940s. Western Swing is closer in musical style to big band jazz than it is to Appalachian country music. Western Swing utilizes the wide spectrum of jazz chord progressions and syncopated rhythms, whereas Country music has always relied on the much simpler formula of three diatonic chords and the rhythms of Scottish and Irish folk music.
