First time I’ve seen anyone defend that POS. Makes sense it happened on here.

This is like saying if you are against the US taxpayers continuing to fund the Ukraine war, you are pro Putin.
Surely you can separate the unequal abuses of our legal system and defending Jones.
The writer himself in the article badmouths Jones

This opinion piece states my sentiments on why the Jones’ verdict was wrong and sets a horrible precedent.

Know nothing at all about the details - and do not personally care about it.

However, it just didn't seem right to me. Plenty of people have dumb ideas and are not too ashamed to spout off about them. And they also cause a lot of agitation and worry.

Just about the entire mass media, both houses of congress, and the current federal administration fall into that category.

I think he was a jerk to mouth off about something like that - but that is the least of my real concerns.

How many senior citizens did Cuomo kill by forcing the homes to take covid positive patients? When will he be prosecuted?

You exemplify the complete inability of the progressive mind to comprehend nuance, as if one must love Jones to disagree with this verdict. I guess you think all criminal defense lawyers must love their clients and therefore support their actions and views?

You keep comparing this civil case to criminal prosecutions. Do you know the difference?

They don't.

Some apparently don't know what defamation is, either.

I don't know why people insist on speaking about a topic when they don't know shite about it.

The problem is that people believed all that crazy shite he spewed and acted on it.

Are political commentators who claim the 2020 election was stolen responsible for the Capitol riot on January 6th?

Can the family of an unvaccinated person who died from COVID-1984 claim that vaccine skeptics are responsible for the death?

This sets a dangerous precedent.

I keep comparing unequal distribution of justice for political reasons. Because the legal particulars are different means little to me, since I’m not a lawyer or trying a case. The unequal justice being dispensed would be unequal regardless.

OK - remember - I know absolutely nothing about what Jones said. I 'gather' that he implied - or rather declared - that the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax.

Did it go further than that?? - did he accuse the parents as being part of the "hoax?"

My point is that what is 'defamatory' about saying something didn't happen. What is the element of defamation there?? = My journeyman's opinion was that he was an IDIOT for saying that. However, since I don't listen to him, I didn't care to find out any more about what an idiot says.

There are lots of things declared "hoaxes" that are really true - and advocates for those hoaxes are not sued for defamation. And vice versa - there are dozens of really really bad things that DID happen that the people you admire claim to be hoaxes.. Now if I had to say which is the worse sin, I'd say the people who actually lie about the truth in a manner than causes real harm (loss of elections, obstruction of justice, impeding the progress of a nation's business, cheating people out of their time and finances) --- those should be pursued,.

I do not understand anything except upset feelings and sleepless nights and justifiable outrage induced by someone stupidly calling the Sandy Hook massacre a hoax. Democrats do worse than this on an hour by hour basis - I have not had a good night's sleep in years.

You do understand that disagreeing with a multi-million dollar judgement over this thing is absolutely NOT the same thing as being of his "side" don't you - or are you so far gone that this final sliver of rational thought has escaped your ken.

He was stupid = and he was a jerk = and he was insufferable. I would have turned off the radio and not listened to the jerk.

Can I sure Schiff, and Swallwell, and Schumer, and Pet;osi, and Biden, and @, @. @. @. @for millions of $$$$$$ for all the angst they have caused with their far far more significant lies???? ESPECIALLY since they KNOW they are lying and are doing on PURPOSE just to persecute me and my kind.

I could use a few million of those other $$$$$ myself.

NOW - that is not to diminish the grief caused to the parents and friends of those victims. I'm not even UPSET that Jones, the idiot jerk off, has to pay out the nose.

I just think it doesn't make any sense.

He called them crisis actors, for starters.

Good for you.

I'm talking about some fairly basic concepts and the misunderstanding people have of them.

You said kids died and Alex should pay.
What’s worse, a podcaster who spouts words that has no direct causation on loss of life, or an actual politician who uses to force of government that directly caused the death of numerous seniors?

So when you threaten us, we can sue Joe Biden? Seems a bit far fetched
