I’m the long run, you might make more money getting elected to the city council or some other entity. You won’t get to keep all the profit but you’ll have to do the work if you’re the contractor. You’ll have to slide a big chunk of it back under the table.

In 10 more years Cali will be an absolute wasteland, what parts arent a wasteland already. It's obviously happening already

The government contractor probably got $500.00, the remainder was embezzled by politicians or funneled back to Act Blue.

You are not wrong. Look how fast they demolished Pacific Palisades.

I’m guessing you are not black, gay, or female enough to get this kind of contract.

What a boondoggle. No freaking wonder we are in such debt.

My wife is a minority immigrant. I will just put the company in her name.

The only downside is that she came here legally and is a naturalized citizen, so Cali might hold that against her.

The sad part is, no matter how badly they run their state finances, they will never be cut off from the federal tit.

These were built on Greenwell Springs Rd. here in Baton Rouge. They are bus stops.

I have to wonder what they cost the taxpayers.

Meanwhile, China probably builds 10 miles of concrete for a city for the price.

We have lost our way.

My local city in California paid for an amphitheater to be built, contracted in 2021 for $3.1 million. Update costs are now $7.1 million. For a concrete half dome that will be a homeless hang out within 3 years. Nobody wants to go outside to listen to music, it's too damn hot for that. Somebody pocketed a lot of dollars.
