Once you’ve lived somewhere where that is a thing, you see the point.

Would you walk around barefoot in a suit while inviting other people into your home to be interviewed?

*Don't forget to put a big American flag in the corner of your living room before letting them in. What a try hard.

Anyone who unironically would say yes to this question is a heathen

Not wearing shoes in the house is pretty normal, drives a lot of women nuts.

I never wear shoes in the house, not worth getting yelled at. Hell Im not even supposed to lay on my bed if Im in "street clothes"

That's worse than being barefoot in the interview.

No shoes is fine, but he should have worn socks. Being barefoot on camera while your running for governor is just goofy as frick

I don’t care if a man chooses to wear shoes or not in his own house.

Maybe for Indians and Asians.

Historically it would have been considered inappropriate to take your shoes off in a social setting.

I didn’t start to encounter the no shoes thing until the last 10 or 15 years.

I the really nice events I go to (like black tie events at someone’s house) certainly don’t make you do that.

Why would you invite someone into your house to do an interview if you are that afraid of shoes in the house. wearing a suit barefoot is just stupid.

It's time to move on from this clown

Quite possibly, the problem is that an American would never do that

It would be seen as gross

Right? Some are saying it's because he was in his home and this his custom. I have no problem with that, but maybe he should have done the interview somewhere else then? Or maybe just break custom and put shoes on just for the interview, he could always take them back off afterwards.

I broke custom and had business meetings in a collared shirt and gym shorts for the last 5 years.
