Texas has 38 congressional districts.
The proposed map was a pickup of five, they've talked about a map that would pick up 6
There are currently nineteen republican state senators in the state senate
So I'm guessing Gunther mistook a vote in the Senate about the proposed maps 19 to 2 because Gunther is not good at math or understanding how any of this works
But he is more manly than Eric

in the Texas State Senate 21 is a quorum. They have had a quorum in the Senate side of the capital this entire time but it doesn't matter unless both houses pass the proposed maps and the special session is about to end for this vote is only theater it does not actually mean anything
They'll have to come back with another special session after the 19th the House and the Senate both have to pass the proposed maps and the maps are more than likely to change so not only will this vote not count the maps they voted on won't even be the maps the republicans are actually trying to pass
