Yeah, we’d be better off listening to the mensa candidates who are completely ignoring the pertinent question asked 3 pages ago. Who needs facts to come to a conclusion? Not you, obviously.

Because Trump is also so vehemently anti-gay?

Do you even hear yourself?

This is so far out there I'm starting to smell a troll.

Never meant that at all. My only point was that you shouldn’t only consider those who are gay as the only people a position like this could impact. Family and friends of gay people may not like decisions like this either. Not saying it’s going to be the end of the GOP or anything of the sort.

And I'm not saying gay people are not welcome. But nobody has a right to be (such and such branch) and expect conservatives to just accept that.

The actions of your children is an odd thing to base one’s religious beliefs on. What if you’d chosen to rob banks for a living?

Well I don’t think they or anyone else believes they are entitled to be accepted by conservatives. One of their main objectives is to move the GOP into being more inclusive. Obviously they know that’s an uphill battle, but that a big reason why they exist and why they have members. If you’re a gay republican, it’s not hard to see the appeal in being part of a smaller affiliate of the Republican Party that is more accepting of you as a gay person.

They are still Christian. They both just started going to churches that didn’t preach as much about gays and homosexuality in the negative sense.

After the gift Nancy Pelosi gave us last night, millions of independent voters, we decide to piss off people who believe that what goes on in people's bedrooms is not the government or politicians business.

As bad as the Louisiana Republican party is, ensuring the election of a 2 term democratic governor, the Texas Republican party decided to say hold my beer.

The gay community really needs to ditch the trans folks. You can't claim "hey, we're just as normal as you" while trying to also normalize people who get their genitals mangled in order to feel better about themselves (yet still go on to kill themselves at rates higher than any other group) and expect to be fully accepted.

Alternative headline: The Texas GOP shoots itself in the foot.

What a stupid and unforced error that was.

Dumb moves like this are why we can’t have a nice fiscally conservative country with secure borders and manufacturing jobs.

Republican Party, real conservatives, would be better off rejecting the evangelicalism than rejecting the Log Cabin Republicans.

Republicans that try and regulate how people live their lives are what drive people away.

Boo hoo, muh Bible-infused governance.

Religion is emotional. Emotions don't belong in making govt policy.

So which is it? Not reading the whole thread.

If it is about the tranny thing I totally support the Texas GOP on this.

Creating more protected classes doesn’t belong in government policy, and it certainly doesn’t belong in a party that processes to believe in small government.

None of you spazzes has even made an attempt to find out the policy differences that might have caused this. “Muh gays” is the only thing driving your response, and you cluck your tongue at people being emotional?

I haven’t seen anything where the LCR made that a big issue for them. If you look at their twitter or google news articles about them, you’ll see they are very pro-trump, anti-Pelosi, supported the border wall, etc. They've endorsed trump for 2020 and I just read about how they actively campaigned to help trump in Florida in 2016.

They aren’t as different as you think, politically wise.

None of this goes against my point. The GOP doesn't advocate for anything you rebutted with, yet you encourage shunning a group of people that want to be a part of the GOP.
