Of all the shite to worry about, smh. Texas is highly overrated as we found out a couple years ago. We moved to San Antonio to a nice neighborhood and couldn't even wait two years to gtfo. Too many people in too big a hurry everywhere all the time and the f-n property taxes are insane. HEB and Buc-ee's are good, but y'all can have that place.

I have zero interest in THC but find it ridiculous that this is what became such a high priority in this session. We have a number of more important bills dying in committee but Dan Patrick picked this as his cause to champion.

Screwed in what way? You really think pot will become hard to get? The demrats are the problem. I don't need pot to feel free. I noticed it isn't in the constitution. Pretty sure the pursuit of happiness can be interpreted differently.
texans can now get a year in jail for something legal for the majority of Americans. It is beyond stupid
You are better off carrying 1.9 ounces of flower than you are a single vape pen

Under the bill, possessing a consumable hemp product with any amount of THC would be punishable by up to a year in jail, double the existing penalty for possessing up to 2 ounces of marijuana.

Hello dipshit. Mississippi has legalized marijuana with a prescription card.
My bad. I just saw the recreational and delta8/cbs derived as the most strict category on the map I referenced. So Texas isn’t emulating anyone then, we’re just going 100% solo as toughest on THC.

Where has THC decriminalization or legalization been good?

No THC-A is also sold in all the CBD stores. There is a loophole in the law that allows it to be sold since it's not "weed" until activated (lit up)
I don't think that is on the slate until this fall

Some conservatives are the equivalent of fricking landmine detectors. If there's one political land mine Within A Thousand Miles these motherfrickers will find it

This isn’t the worst thing. The hemp loophole made it impossible for real THC legalization to even be discussed. Patrick and Abbott represent a political power base in Texas that is aging out. The MAGA stuff is putting pressure on that power base, and now that Texans have enjoyed legal THC for long enough it will be an actual ballot issue in the future.

Bans all THC products or bans all unregulated THC products?
Sounds like the alcohol and pharmacy lobbies got to them.

Thca is the active part in legal weed. You’re thinking delta9 which is sold at gas stations and small shops.
Yeah, it is active but it's not THC. THCa is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. It is the precursor to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) as we all know . THCa is in flower and everything else. When you burn THCa, it converts to THC.
Shops can sell items with THCa in non-legal states. They can't sell THC items.

I think Mississippi used Oklahoma and/or Arkansas as a model, but I'm not sure.

Good. First it starts out as a simple innocent hemp derived thc gummy, next thing you know you’re sucking dick for a hit of meth.

so much so they tried to slip the THC beverages out of the ban because Slivereagle is the distributor for many of them
i don't have much faith but maybe its enough to get the blow hard Dan Patrick out of office next year

I just don’t understand Texas’ hard on for pot and gambling. I get the Christian history and current society but the push for full elimination is archaic.
This is just speculation on my part but I'm guessing the pharmaceutical and alcohol industries have a hand in it

there is some nasty shite sold in convenience stores around this country, that probably should not be sold at all much less easy access...
Agree

the alcohol you mentioned is regulated by the state....
And so could the sale of thc, in any form which again, does not matter to me. I'll drive north. Like most shite the state of Texas does, they don't think it through.
