Texas dems nominate their candidate for governor. .001% chance to win

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This will also sting Beto's efforts come November. The blue wave in Texas is still very far off shore and in danger of returning to ripple status, thanks in part to these primary runoffs attracting only the most extreme of voters.

Valdez, the former Dallas County sheriff, became the first Hispanic female and first openly gay person to win a major party's gubernatorial nomination in Texas.

Congrats to Lupe Valdez for becoming the first openly gay Latina from a major party to get steamrolled in a general election for Governor of Texas!

Do they even look at policies any more or do the Dems just look them up and down and ask who they prefer to have sex with before putting them on the ballot?

I'm sure they picked her for her policies, and not because she has enough identity-politic labels to make a prog splooge zeselves

Identity politics, man. Completely ruining our country. It truly is disgusting.

when you are afraid to look at your root problem, you just continue down the same path

Identity politics at its finest.

As of Feb. 24, Abbott had more than $41 million stockpiled. Through six months as a candidate, Valdez couldn't raise a half-million.
Valdez, 70, struggled to master state policy issues and instill confidence among political insiders that she could somehow block Abbott's confident glide into a second term.
I wish Lupe the best.

It’ll be fun to watch her get a Cleveland Steamer from a guy in a wheelchair.

What are the limits on what Abbott can spend his warchest on?
He clearly doesn’t need it to win this one but he could sure curry some favor with state and national Republicans by spreading the wealth.

According to the Texas Ethics Commission’s Campaign Finance Guide, the only restriction I’m seeing is:
quote:
A candidate or officeholder is prohibited from using political funds to purchase real property or to pay the interest on or principal of a note for the purchase of real property

Just goes to show as long as the Socialist loons continue to nominate whack jobs, the Dems have no chance in TX.
The Ninnies of Harris, Travis, Bexar, and Harris Counties continue to dominate Democrat politics, and will always nominate candidates that even moderate Democrats, including Hispanics, wont support.

They are idiots. Latinos(heavily Catholic) and Blacks are much less likely to vote for a gay person than white people.

There are two Harris Counties? Doesn't that get confusing?
