I was wondering what was going on in here then I realized this is the dummy who “wants to build equity” so they’re paying a $7,000/month mortgage when they plan on living there for only 5 years.
At $3000/month for a nice apartment you’d save $240,000 over 5 years. You wouldn’t come close to getting that out of the house.

You have a computer in your pocket, probably 10 streaming services, luxury car (by their standards), order delivery food to your door, and probably tons of other reoccurring bills you don’t need. STFU and cut back and pay them off.

Unless you are a non Texas resident, your numbers as well as your entire premise are disingenuous.

Do you live beneath your means like the boomers did 50 year ago? Nah, man. 200k a year? You could live like a king if you're willing to sacrifice for a small portion of your life

Uhhh yeah. Buying a home in the 80s wasn’t easy. Interest rates were well over 10%!

You can thank the government bailouts during the 2008/2009 financial crisis for the rapid increase in home prices....that cheap ZIRP money allowed real estate investors to buy up distressed properties at fire sale pricing for quick flips, rentals and the vacation rental business.

And that’s one of the cheaper schools in Texas. Even if you found a job that pays 70k after school, with taxes, interest, etc you will be in poverty.

Absolutely correct. Conservatives need to come up with a better plan than just washing their hands of it and saying "pay back your loans."

I was a grad student making $30k a year and managed to save $40k living comfortably over 4 years. I didn’t take an exorbitant amount of trips every year, I didn’t go out drinking every weekend dropping $100 a night in alcohol, and I bought myself nice stuff from time to time.
I bet you weren’t married, maybe even single.
