"Tax Hikes?!" "Tax Hikes?" "I don't understand your question. Why would we raise taxes on businesses?"

I'm assuming she was asking about unemployment insurance rates, which automatically rise in most states based on the incidents of claims a company receives.
Gov. A did a good job. About what most people expected, I think.

Executive Order is just to create this task force to determine how we reopen business in Texas?!?!? Why the hell hadn’t he already been doing this?
I'm sure he was artfully trying to tell President Trump that despite the offer, no he doesn't need Ivanka or Jared on the task force.

Just takes one. No way Louisiana stays shut down if Texas opens for business. Would be the same if Louisiana opened... no way Texas would stay shut down. Abbot isn't catering to leftists and libs. We are fixing to be open to some degree for sure.
Texas has six times the population of Louisiana and 75% of the covid cases. I'm hoping Abbott doesn't go in lockstep with Louisiana's approach.

Pretty much a bone with NO meat.
I still don't know anyone with c-19, I still don't know anyone that knows anyone with c-19 let alone know anyone that has died due to c-19.
Why the frick would you order a pair of shoes at Macy's to have to go pick them up when you can have them delivered?
You can go to a state park but wear a fricking mask?
Wheels is pathetic.

Does this include State parks? Want to get in some camping and fishing before it flips to 110F everyday.

It was kind of charming the way some of you thought Abbott would pull a Trump "it's just a hoax" full throttled return to work/school.
Abbott is going to have to to be cautious, because there are lots of doctors in Texas.
He did point out that number of unused hospital beds, which to me reflects his desire to push as hard as he can, while still sounding thoughtful and cautious.
Abbott's lowering expectations, which he will follow with good news. Smart play, although unTrumpian.

No shite. Weather has been outstanding.

Seems pretty reasonable. Hopefully overall trends continue and we can open more stuff up sooner rather than later

Been using park ramps for month and a half. The ramps are pretty much open statewide.

Yes he said state parks will open next week but wants people wearing masks and distancing

He pretty much had to make this play
Too many interests and too diverse a State
Numbers hold then he can unleash at a more rapid pace

Figured if anyone would open up quickly, it would be Texas.
Maybe Florida now?

Sounds like Alabama, at least the coast, has had enough

The testing here has been crap. 12000 people tested in Harris county out of 4.9 million. It has been reactive and focused on people who are already obviously sick. If Abbott doesn’t address that pronto, this is going to go south quick. They say “the curve has been flattening” but if you look at their own data, I just don’t see how they are coming up with that.

That’s how testing works. You don’t test the well indiscriminately for no reason.
