I think he'll follow the guidelines issued yesterday.

If DeSantis in Florida also does, you've got the #2 and #3 largest states (and major parts of our economy) reopening. Will CA and NY continue their petulance to prove a political point, or will they realize that all they're doing is having more people (especially those who don't support the party in power) think seriously about moving out?

Executive Order is just to create this task force to determine how we reopen business in Texas?!?!? Why the hell hadn’t he already been doing this?

Agree... my post last night.

As soon as one state like Texas opens up for business the other states will fall like dominoes. The pressure on officials in remaining “closed” states will be unbearable. Just takes 1 big state to resume business and the flood gates will open.

Just takes one. No way Louisiana stays shut down if Texas opens for business. Would be the same if Louisiana opened... no way Texas would stay shut down. Abbot isn't catering to leftists and libs. We are fixing to be open to some degree for sure.

Texas I suspect will leave it somewhat to local areas to decide but most will I suspect go to phase 1 beginning of May. May first sounds good.

Executive orders effective today:
-Creation of Strike Force
- Schools are closed through rest of 2019-2020 school year
- Elective Medical Procedures are reopened for serious conditions
- More restrictions on Access to Nursing homes

4/20:
- Public parks reopen with visitors wearing face masks, maintaining 6’ distance and limiting groups to 5 or less. (Please, please include tennis courts and golf courses)

Effective 4/24:
All retail reopens with order to pickup to go

More actions on 4/27 to open many more businesses; how many depend on case numbers not jumping too high.

I am pretty damn bummed about schools being closed. They should have let them go back one week just to do yearbooks and sat goodbye.

Did he mandate Chuy's start shipping creamy jalapeno and boom boom sauce across state lines? Asking for a friend.

That sucks but we need numbers to stay low so he will open more on 4/27. For those returning next year, they will probably offer them some time to sign them at beginning of year. For others, they can maybe plan a sign and go over the summer?
