The last three speakers are prime example. Nearly 150 years of service between the three.

Term limits may be the only way to save this country.

Joe Biden ran for President 32 fricking years ago.

And had already been in DC almost 20 years at that point.

I thought the same thing, and still do to some extent. However, the REAL danger to this country are the entrenched career (unelected and politically appointed) bureaucrats scattered throughout the Executive Branch and now, unfortunately, the military.

How quickly you people forget how dangerous a lame duck Senator can be when he/she isn’t worried about reelection.

Jeff Flake put this country through an unneeded month of hell to score points for his post senate career.

It's way past time for these decrepit old farts to retire and let us get some new blood in there. 80+ years olds who have been there for decades shouldn't be making these decisions. I wouldn't have trusted my grandparents to make decisions for America when they were pushing 80 and they were sharper than most.

My wife, very apolitical, walked in and saw Grassley and Leahy talking and the first thing she said is "jeez these old men are struggling."

That was painful to watch.

I was in “public service” for 15 years. I broke my back (crushed four vertebrae actually), dislocated my shoulder so bad they had to rebuild it (and remove over two inches of my clavicle), blew out my left knee (I don’t have much meniscus left at this point), dislocated my right foot and ankle (surgery on that maybe by year end), sustained numerous concussions, over 70 staples/stitches, more scars than I can count, and I don’t sleep much.

They gave me a shitty pension and paid for my schooling afterwards. I never complain...probably received more than I deserve, especially the education.

These pieces of shite politicians go in somewhat normal and within a decade or two they’re living in multi-million dollar mansions and sitting on millions in cash. Interesting how that works.

Voters don't want term limits. They could have them anytime they want.

The same people who pass legislation for term limits for a president fail to lead by example by doing so to themselves. Ironic isn't it.

Voters have the power to term limit any elected official.

I'd like to see age limits put on the Supreme Court. Maybe at 72 you have to be reconfirmed for a single 6-year term. There's no point in having justices on the bench who can't even stay awake.
