How was he not arrested for shoving a cop?

Fascinating behavior.

Steve Cohen is, was and always will be a vile, pandering fruit booty clown.

So long, bitch.

Let's see if the LA legislature has the guts to do this.

Same with Alabama. The last I saw the goal is to eventually get to 7-0, but I still have a funny feeling they may go the easy route and just redraw the 2nd district to make it 6-1, at least for the midterm.

Its basically not possible to completely assure a 6-0 map without doing absurd things with New Orleans.

Like VA did with the DC area?

VA did the opposite of what LA would need to do. They distributed Dem votes to rural GOP areas. We’d have to crack NoLa and dilute with lots of GOP votes.

Our geography and population distribution don’t lend to that or to a guaranteed GOP sweep without absurd un-democratic maps.

We will probably see the same thing here in the Louisiana legislature.

quote:

Democratic legislators plan to resist any efforts from their Republican colleagues to reduce the number of Black-majority congressional districts in the state, according to party leaders. The Times-Picayune | Baton Rouge Advocate’s Alyse Pfeil reports on the bitter redistricting fight that lies ahead:

Democrats said they would refuse discussions on any map that has less than two majority-Black districts and have noted that Louisiana’s population is now roughly one-third Black. “We are not in favor of anything other than a 4-2 map. If you bring us something that has less than two African-American representatives, we are not in favor,” said Rep. Edmond Jordan, D-Baton Rouge and chair of Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.

SB116 would create five "red" districts and one "purple" district and actually looks like what common sense tells you a congressional map should look like.

Give that cop some love. He handled that way better I would have.

I would have to at least say something back.

I'm so tired of liberal blacks in this country that I literally revel in their pain and frustration.
