Nuke option. Only needs a simple majority.

Oh and hey Dems...you can thank your own Harry Reid for that one.

I don't know about that. Everyone hates Ted. They might vote in acclimation just to get rid of him from the Senate.

Yeah, because we all know Supreme Court nominations should be made based on the quality "melts" they would receive.

I can't think of a better barometer for how good a job a nominee would do than quantity and extremity if liberal melts.

Win if this happens. Strict constitutionalist on the SC and Rick Perry replaces him as U.S. Senator.

He would never get confirmed as he is literally detested on both sides of the aisle. No chance.

Trump has a list of 21 solid candidates that does not include Cruz. He is not going to waver from that list.

It only takes a simple majority (51 votes) to actually confirm a nominee. However, should the Democrats filibuster, it would take 60 votes to get cloture to end the filibuster and move on to the actual confirmation vote.

This isn't going to happen. No, not at all. Scalia was not a mere ideologue. He was a brilliant legal Constitutional mind and very able communicator. To replace him with a lesser light would do no favors for the cause of Constitutional justice.

It would be grand to have a strict constitutionalist join the court.

That list was made before the nomination was secured. No way he was going to put a competitor on that list.

I am hoping that he is open for Cruz on the SCOTUS. There is not a better constitutional scholar on the horizon - and certainly not a strict constructionist.

I am all for Cruz on the SCOTUS - been saying it for over a year.

With all due respect to Justice Scalia who was undoubtedly a brilliant mind, I don't believe many would view Ted Cruz as a lesser light in any discernible fashion.

Should he be appointed he would become one of the brighter minds on the court.

Even Miss Lindsey seems to be kissing President Trumps arse all of a sudden. And suggesting Cruz to SCOTUS
