McCarthy threw tons of money to primary the 8 GOP congressmen that vacated him. This was his only success. But the real issue here is Bob Good, a good dude, sided with the RINOs on the Trump prosecutions and his opponent used that against him. He should have just kept his mouth shut on that issue and he would have been easily reelected.

Romney and McCain were moderates at best who said moderate things and did moderate things. No one believes they were or are remotely conservative, and no one conservative liked either much.
Trump is at best a moderate who said right wing things then does leftist and moderate things.
Do you think its good that actual, hardline conservatives with 100% voting records get ousted in favor of more moderate candidates?

Apparently the VA 5th is extremely conservative. Bob Good and John J. McGuire are not RINOs IMO. You will get solid votes from McGuire. This is not a loss or gain in terms of conservatism but McGuire might be considered a little more right wing radicle by the legacy media, which I don't mind.

Unfortunately when faced with two evils, you sometimes have to pick the one you can live with.
Trump will at least nominate people right of center for the Supreme Court, and he's going to deregulate.
