Just sent a complaint to CNN. Told them Tapper is stupid and needs to learn what the First Amendment actually says.
Also told them I'd be sending the same e-mail to their advertisers.

its nice to see Republicans finally show their true selves in wanting big government and having the government step in a threaten private companies to get rid of someone because they talked bad about the president.

It is intended to protect you from the government arresting you for your speech.
People need to read up on the 1A and stop using this as a talking point. The 1A certainly prohibits the government arresting you for protected speech, but that's far from the only protections it affords. I've seen too many people stating that there cannot be a 1A violation if the government doesn't arrest you. This. Is. Not. True.
Here is how this issue should be framed:
1. Did the government coerce ABC to pull Kimmel's show down? If yes, then you move to question 2. If no, then the inquiry stops there and there is no 1A violation.
2. Is Kimmel's speech "protected speech" under the first amendment? Probably so, but that's for the courts to decide.

Provide a link where the FCC Chief pushed for a firing?

We’ll need to consult SFP on constitutional law, but I do remember my freshman year history teacher telling us how Jefferson included a little known clause in the first amendment. It says, in parentheses, does not apply to late night talk show hosts.

LOL the audacity of Jake Tapper
He was the spiritual leader of CNN at a time when all of them intentionally misled the public about Biden's health
Then he had the gall to write a book on a completely false premise - ie, that they didn't really appreciate the seriousness. To any reasonable person it's obvious that the entire concept of the book is an egregious falsehood. They not only knew, they actively tried to cover it up. But at absolute best, it's an exhibit in incompetence - "we believed one side without question without using our eyes or raising any doubts."
Now, the guy who engaged in these preposterously bad faith acts wants to talk about free speech and media? LOL

Tapper started at MT-V and Vh1. He's not a journalist.

First of all he doesn’t understand the first amendment. But this same cuck is always wanting to undermine the second amendment. So don’t give me this crap.

Or a Business decision, he had less views than Joe Biden!!!

It does not protect you from a non-governmental, private employer from having an issue with something you said on their network.

Dems are so dumb. If he wasn’t arrested his rights were not violated. I live the fact democrats created this environment over the last 10-15 years and now that they are reaping the sewingbthey did they hate their own policies unless they can use it against those that disagree with them.

These guys are tiresome. Remember the NASCAR driver who lost his ride for something his father said before the driver was even born?

Tapper: Kimmel removal ‘direct’ First Amendment violation

This is why the media is so corrupt. They make things up as they go

I would bet arse tapper said it was the free market at work when Tucker and Roseanne were fired.

He is trying to keep his name in the news so he stays relevant. Nobody sane watches his drivel.
Posted on 9/19/25 at 12:27 pm to Rooski
They "cancelled" him so badly that he is still the host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on ABC.

I didn’t know Kimmel went to jail, I thought he just got fired.
