I do not wish to do that for the Iranian civilians have been held down by these religious zealots. The civilians want to be free. The least we can do is give them a chance.

I agree but if we don't permanently damage the current regime when we leave thousands of Iranian citizens will be killed to put them back in their place. We have to do enough damage that their military turns on their masters or else all of this is a waste of time

Yea, they have worked with both Hamas and Al Qaeda but its also not surprising that they would attack Sunni countries. I was reading a little more about why Shia would help Al Qaeda and Hamas and it said that their sunni beliefs are more strictly old beliefs and they believe other Sunnis have become too westernized and do not adhere to the old laws like they should. They look at other sunnis and their government as traitors.

Thanks for making my point. The war was 400 years ago, and not likely to be repeated

The Shia just attacked the Sunni today. Bold strategy Cotton. Wanna know who has massive Shia populations? Iraq is the largest, along with Saudi Arabia, and Turkey

Wanna know who else Iran has attacked recently? Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey

Several military experts I have listened to lately keep using the same line. Mowing the lawn. If the regime does not fall and they manage to start rebuilding to the point that they start becoming a threat again then we would just go over and bomb the hell out of the place again. Every time they rebuild we hit them again just like mowing the lawn.

Yea when I was in Saudi and Iraq they told me that Mohammeds cousin basically went back to his tribe and acted like he was the one visited by angels and that is where Shia come from and apparently Shia pray to their dead relatives to speak for them. Sunnis despise that because they see it as them praying to man. There were some other things they really hated. I never really bothered to look it up but you could tell they were really passionate about their hate for Shia.

ISIS started out as AQ in Iraq. Maybe that’s where I heard they funded them. AQ in Iraq was so extreme the people in charge of AQ threw them out I think. It’s been a long time since I read about all that. I remember enough to be dangerous lol.

From what I heard today is the Gulf Arabs wanted to get involved because Iran was targeting civilians. They decided to stay out of it because of the sectarian angle you are talking about. They were afraid that it wouldn’t play well with the people of Iran that Sunni Arabs would be attacking Shia Muslims. So they decided against getting involved. From what I heard though that is about to change if Iran doesn’t stop very soon. They are getting tired of it and do not want to be seen as doing nothing with their own people.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was self-sabotage by Iraqi agents with an assist by IRGC.

Iran is hitting tankers to press Trump to end our bombing campaign. They know he’s worried about economic pressure.
