The use of the 25th Amendment in this situation is pure fantasy at this point and you’re acting confused why it hasn’t already happened. Is this a schtick or are you being serious as you claim?

Maybe they could...I don't know...hijack a plane and run it into a building?

Nah. That type of thing could never happen here.

Not under this administration no way! The Biden regime are way to advanced to let that happen.

There's a non-zero chance that hundreds or thousands of Americans get massacred by terrorists in the next couple weeks. What can we even compare this to to find a course of action? Bataan maybe?

The way they’re talking right now are basically saying they’re on their own. The Press Secretary for the Pentagon said on repeat that they’ll protect US citizens AT THE AIRPORT, and then when asked about American citizens outside of the airport he then confirms that they’ll be protected ONCE THEY GET TO THE AIRPORT. Not giving American citizens any guidance on how to get to the airport. Yesterday they only evacuated 165 American citizens. If they keep up that rate, what’s going to happen to US citizens after August 31st? A massacre is definitely on the table right now.

I think they may use the 25th. Back last October Nancy made the 25th Amendment easier to perform, but I realized that wasn’t meant for Trump but instead Biden to get him out of power and put Kamala in place. Now the Establishment realizes she’s loathed by pretty much everyone and that we won’t fall in line with her. If even someone like Amy Klobachar were VP, I think they would have used the 25th by now.

I think its just because it sounds good and pulls at the strings of people's sympathy.

We're really going to have to read between the lines going forward. MrLSU posted a quote from a general that specifically mentioned, "troops on the ground in Kabul". He didn't say troops going in to protect the airport, as we've heard for the past ~36 hours. That's a big difference in meaning, and I don't think it was unintentional.

A very serious and concerning question…. But hey if we somehow get all Americans out then screw that country…. I see no way the Taliban can strike U. S. Soil…..

Anyone can waltz across our southern border and every terrorist in the world has seen how weak and ineffective our administration is.

Al-Qaeda is a different animal, their name may have changed some but same group, obviously ISIS also.

I saw some reports that they’re referred to as “foreigners” there by locals and could already be there. Many from Pakistan

It's weird place to be. I don't think there is a constitutional provision for what happens if a president simply... decides not to do the job.

We have a State Dept. working for an administration that has no idea how many American citizens are in the capital city of a country that is an active war zone. They don't even know where to start with a potential number, so they have no idea how many people are still in the city.

NSA Sullivan said they’re working with the Taliban to make sure people can get to the airport. No that it is not a joke.

Which that’s not an option any sane person would do. Personally I think I’d try to pull a Gary from Team America:

The US isn't a supporting country? I mean frick the UN and this council but still we aren't supporting this session?

quote:

The U.N. Human Rights Council is to hold a special session next week on the situation in Afghanistan to address “serious human rights concerns” after the Taliban takeover, a United Nations statement said.

The Geneva forum is set to convene on August 24 at the request of Pakistan and nearly 90 other countries supporting the move, it said.

Convening a special session requires support from one-third of the Council’s 47 member states.

Backers so far include members Britain and France - but not China or Russia - while the United States was not among supporting countries with observer status, a provisional U.N. list showed, Reuters reports.

Another thought....

If Saleh and crew rally troops and start to try to take back some Northern cities/towns, how does that influence the Taliban's decisions regarding evac efforts? I've seen a couple of reports that Saleh (former Afghan VP) has declared himself President of Afghanistan.
