Also from Fox:

quote:

The US embassy in Kabul said it has received reports that Taliban members were executing surrendering Afghan troops

quote:

A Taliban spokesman denied that the group was executing prisoners to the Wall Street Journal earlier this week, even as witness accounts contradicted that claim. The Taliban has also denied allegations that its militants have demanded conquered territories provide them with females aged 15 and older as brides.

It's a pretext for sending more troops back in. Just like Iraq, there's no good way to leave. This was going to happen no matter how "correctly" we withdrew.

His administration's response, so far, has made us look weaker than I ever possibly could have thought. His announcing a two week vacation at this point in time is a slap in the face to a whole lot of people

My thoughts also. Something is going on with Biden. He's either physically ill or he's had a episode mentally. They've been keeping him under a 'lid' for a few days now off to Camp David and they're letting us know beforehand that he's going to be 'away' for almost a week.

I don't know what it is, but something is up.

I'm speaking to the shitshow currently going on.

NY Times:

Last Government-Held City in Afghanistan’s North Falls to Taliban

With their seizure of Mazar-i-Sharif, the insurgents appeared to be on the verge of a complete takeover of the country. President Biden said he would speed up the deployment of 1,000 troops to help evacuate Americans.

quote:

The insurgents now effectively control the southern, western and northern regions of the country — just about encircling the country’s capital, Kabul, as they press on in their rapid military offensive. The Taliban blitz began in May, but the insurgents have managed to seize more than half of Afghanistan’s provincial capitals in just over a week.

The Taliban seized Mazar-i-Sharif, the last northern holdout city, barely an hour after breaking through the front lines at the city’s edge. Soon after, government security forces and militias fled — including those led by the infamous warlords Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum and Atta Muhammad Noor — effectively handing control to the insurgents.

I saw a video of Taliban fighters in Dostum's mansion/compound. I can't find it again, though. I don't have a clue what they were saying, but it was probably something like, "Holy shite, do you believe this?" It was a nice joint, even by OT Baller standards.

They didn't loot, burn, or destroy it, either. At least not in the video.

This is intriguing. I may have found my rabbit hole for the night.

Less than a month ago ol' Joe said this:

"The Taliban is not the North Vietnamese army. They’re not remotely comparable in terms of capability. There’s going to be no circumstance where you see people being lifted off the roof of the embassy of the United States from Afghanistan. It is not at all comparable.”

I knew Biden would be an abject failure….but this is tragically below even my low expectations.
