Almost all atheist and non-religious historians don’t take the idea that Jesus of Nazareth didn’t exist seriously.

I can't speak for the person or what their reasons are. But I do not consider myself a Christian for the same reasons. I do not think the death of Jesus saves anyone, I think his life and his example saves. That you must keep the commandments and if you believe in Jesus, that's what you'll do. I do not at all believe in the blood sacrifice. If he existed or not doesn't really matter to me as a result. What I do know is that Jesus is telling the truth that the father is in him because I recognize the father in him. Even if it's just a story I know the understanding being expressed(which I think is much different than what Christians think). More likely is that a version of Jesus did exist, but much of what is said about him isn't exactly true. For example the walking on water is a reference to the sun. And that you need to be perfectly calm to be a mirror reflection of it. And that Jesus, with the father being in him, was a perfect reflection of the father. These are ancient metaphors that predate Jesus. And the holidays of Christianity are pagan holidays that were added to bring in Pagans to unite everyone in the Roman empire. It's called syncretism. And any Rabbi would likely tell you the translation isn't "virgin" for the Virgin Mary, it's actually "young woman". This is again another ancient pagan myth that God(s) have children with humans. Because nobody can confirm if she is a virgin or not anyway, and it's not a sign if you can't see it. But you can see young woman, and she still fits that description. But that whole concept is an archetype deeply embedded in ancient Mediterranean cultures long before Jesus/Christianity. AKA Pagan.
All this ^^^^^ is a load of horse shite.

These people arent even acting like Christians who really arent as described in Matthew 7:22-23. These people are straight up anti-Christ blasphemers
God please have mercy on their souls and call them to true repentance

Cool.
Anyways, post the historical writings if you're so confident I'm wrong.

How so? Do you believe the KJV or NJ English translation of a text originally in Latin as scribed from Koine Greek referencing terms from Aramaic and Hebrew is without flaws? There are still debates amongst Christian scholars as to what certain words actually did mean at the time.
As for hijacking Pagan holidays, the Catholic and Orthodox churches have never denied this especially as it applies to Christmas. In pre Christian times the Christmas season as we know it today was the Saturnalia. Easter is a term borrowed from the pagans, but the timing is derived from the old Hebrew calendar, so it is closer to accurate.
As for terms, a lot of them get lost or jumbled in translation like Satan or how we understand whether Mary was considered an actual virgin in terms of description.....she could have been from a believers perspective. But Christianity has some parallel to other Mediterranean religions like that of the Greeks and Egyptians. Greek mythology abounds of stories of Zeus impregnating unsuspecting young women whether he showed up as a goose or golden shower.....and all of them were "virgins".
Makes no matter though, none of the mythology is important as to Christ. The important part is the message and the idea of salvation through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross

i really don't understand why you people get upset over this stuff, doctrine in the protestant faith has always been a make it up as you go kind of thing.
as we speak the methodist are debating Trinitarian theology and the divinity of christ. i look at talafreako's faith the same way i do all of protestantism complete and utter gobbledygook. my faith is 2000 years old, in a hundred years there won't be a protestant faith, your embrace of homosexuality and ordaining women was a poison pill and the roman catholic church will be selecting another pope.

I believe religion is the 2nd oldest business in the world. I do believe in God but I do not attend a church. I can interpret the Holy Bible without the help of another.

Don’t you think those are separate concepts?

This and pretty much your entire response isn’t true.
Just because other religions and cultures also celebrate feast days in December doesn’t mean Christmas was “hijacked” from pagans.

Do you know how to do anything other than deflect?
Posted on 9/24/26 at 9:18 am to icecreamsnowball
I asked you a direct question. How is that deflecting?
The concepts of whether Jesus actually existed as a historical person, on the one hand, and whether there are contemporaneous historical sources that prove that, on the other hand, are separate.
