Intersex is a condition, typically regarded as a chromosomal abnormality. That is not what modern gender theory is talking about.

Well over 99% of human beings are born with an obvious biological sex. It isn't "assigned at birth", it is an immutable characteristic at the genetic level. All the psychobabble, chemistry and surgical mutilation in the world cannot:
1. Put Humpty Dumpty back together again, or
2. Change that biological sex
What folks are doing is taking a linguistic term (gender) and applying it to an individual with personality interests which differ from those associated with their biological sex. And now it has been pushed to an extreme because everyone craves specialness, even an unearned specialness, so this provides it for them.
