Talk to people uptown New Orleans after Katrina. The armed thugs, make that California National Guard, came to town and knocked on doors demanding that remained-ers turn over all their guns to the Guardsmen.

Our friend who lived through it didn't have a gun and they really doubted him, except by then he looked a few steps from being homeless. And he looked so scruffy when he got up here for a needed rest a week later, what kept him from being pulled over by our local deputy was the Louisiana tag on his van.)

If they really wanted to ban guns they would just stop the manufacture and let attrition do the rest.

Theres no constitutional requirement to allow firearm manufacture.

Don't be simple. The police can't "easily" do anything. This battle will be won or lost in front of judges, not cops. Police don't have time to find the guns, much less confiscate them. They're a little busy already

-“I have my gun and food and first aid, I’m safe”. No you’re not.
-gun-takers won’t send one man for the job. There would be a group of heavily armed men, going to your door. You’re locale did not organize before this. You are out-manned. You lose.
the ones going door to door will outnumber and be heavily armed. after they come in the house you say that you have no guns if you were ever on record registering a gun; you lost it in a white water rafting accident when your kayak tipped over. (you had the guns with you because there was bears in the said wilderness)

It won't happen this way though. After I am dead there will be such a pussified politically correct govt of democrats; that a lot will be forced to go turn in your registered guns to a local building for maybe some money.

it will happen like a frog in boiling water, you will be ashamed to wear a MAGA hat in public or be spit upon and attacked, you will be like the city of Baltimore very quickly after AOC is elected. You will be begging to give guns for some food, your solar panels will be destroyed by a hurricane, you won't be able to afford the fuel for a generator because gasoline will be non existent, or to pay the bank to stay in your home. you will have no transportation because you had to eat your donkey that pulls your AOC fuschia-pink buggy.

I am 62, just told my wife last night that I would go down firing if they actually started door to door gun confiscation. My feeling is that if it truly happened then we have lost the country anyway and no longer worth living here...

This was documented by reporters (Chris Rose among them) who it happened to while covering the aftermath of Katrina City.
Out of state Guard took the guns from the uptown home they were staying in.

-Did so knowing that they were reporters with legit reason for being in the city.
-Did so knowing that gunfire was erupting nearby from folks who had NO legit reason to be there.

Liberal reporters were outraged and appealed to next local LE they could find.
Guns eventually returned.
So maybe there is a Santa Claus...

A gun grab would take every willing and able person to pull off. Hence no one will be protecting the unwilling and unable supporters. They might get me and my guns, but you can be damn sure I’ll have an opportunity to pick off a couple of pink haired baristas and soy boys before they get to me. I’ll die happy.

frick sitting by the door waiting.

And of course all of that was hypothetical and I hope it never comes to that.

While all of the armed officers are trying to take his guns, how much good will a steak knife do against the guy who is further down the list from him.

I applaud you not handing them over, but really just curious if folks who think this solves the problem have considered:

Once you have ducked out on defending your right to own the weapon by lying about it's existence, what do you tell the cops if you ever use it again to defend yourself?

Where will you go for target practice?

What if you want to transport it by car and get pulled over?

To me, lying will only buy a temporary amount of time around anti-gun legislation.

Conflict avoidance should start way before you have to lie. Peaceful session is best availed while we still openly have our weapons and plenty of ammo.

If they come for them then they will get mine at least 3-7 days before my funeral. That would be the only way.

If you were to count, I suspect you would find that about 5% of your post count consists of following me from thread to thread like a little gadfly.
