Why take a person's gun...if you can with hold their Government Healthcare. Health care is like a watering hole...all you have to do is wait for the prey to get thirsty and at the borderline of death. They'll come. Easy pickin's.

That said, observe all the Countries that have collapsed into revolutionary anarchy. Plenty of examples out there. The only difference in our Nation is that there are a ton of arms. And what would be left of Government organizations (how do they get paid, do they leave their own Family exposed, to go off in the Military, and if they do shoot other people's Family's, is their then free game...etc.?)

Your analysis is based on a very simplistic and unrealistic scenario, ds. Might be fun as a troll, but irl...it's ludicrous.

You'd best get Jesus and put your money down on the next life/parallel universe theory.

How do they even know who's got what? Quite a few guns have no paper trail.

I lived in MA for 2 years. I’ll tell you, buying ammo required a card that is about like a regular CCL in terms of difficulty to get. You can’t just go into a store and buy ammo without it. On top of that they want you to register all guns. I eventually was able to get a CCL there, but it took several meetings with the police chief, letters of rec, etc. In order to shoot a gun, you have to go to an indoor range or join a gun club. To do that you needed to know 5 people in the club. If you are caught with a gun in your vehicle and don’t have a good reason for it plus it being completely locked, unloaded and in a separate locked case from the ammo, you are fricked.

Contrasting that with AR it was like another planet. As more states do that it’ll be a slow burn over time but they will get there.

I need you to link what the EPA did during the Obama admin with concerns to ammo. What i remember was 8yrs of fricking sky screaming about gun confiscation. Gun prices soared because of this fear and everyone stockpiled ammo. Fast forward and we still have our guns no laws were passed during his admin and the price of ammo has come down. Thankfully i can walk into Academy and buy ammo again.

I'll meet them at the door and hand over the single shot .410 that I registered.

Then they can move on to the next farm

If we are not vigilant guns are at risk but it would have to be a multi-generational slide to get there. It can’t happen all at once Australia style in the US - yet. The left is doing an absolutely amazing job of making young people ignorant of our founding based on their control of education. I think that is part of the “college for everyone” drive we see. They don’t want to educate they want to indoctrinate.

Yup.
The door to door sh!t is way off target, way over used and not thought through very well.

If gun confiscation were to happen first it would mean that DC had complete control of the media and its messages.
Gun owners would of course now be the enemy of all good Americans.
For those criminals in urban areas who refuse to turn in guns power and water are turned off long before door to door is needed.
If this doesn't work the IRS can confiscate all or partial wages and direct deposits via putting the screws to any employer who refuses(put out of business).
For those in rural areas away from the lights as it were you would see a more heavy handed process more quickly.

If you really want to know when gun confiscation will/could go down it will be the day after those in power completely control all flows of information via the press and the internet.

Till then the 2nd is in the hands of the people.

If we are writing fiction, this is how it will happen.

Step 1: A federal gun registration system that has stiff penalties for non-compliance. If you are ever caught with a non-registered firearm, you face prison time and six figure fines.

Step 2: A massive government buy back program. The buy back program will pay more than many guns are worth (cash for clunkers) so there will be mass participation.

Step 3: A Supreme Court decision that overturns the 2nd Amendment. There are riots in a few areas, and demonstrations in a few others - but it only ends with arrests and no bloodshed.

Step 4: Enforcing the confiscation of guns. It will be done by local LEO and it will be paid for through massive grants that cities cannot turn down. People will be shot defending their home, but most people will ignore, as they were breaking the law. A few LEO programs will not participate ...

Step 5: Military confiscation. By then the military will be so dumbed down that they will follow these orders. You will hear of just a few old guard officers refusing and they will be retired.

By this point, you would have removed 90%+ of guns, which eliminates any threat.

They won’t physically take the guns. I think they will tax gunpowder, brass, lead, etc. to the point that you cannot find ammunition. A gun is useless without ammo.

They are already taking your guns.

Go out buy an automatic. You can't. Go buy a machine gun.

The fact is, this has been an erosion and it's slowly happening. Want to talk about the capacity laws? Or limiting of bullets?

OR what about the gov knowing exactly what you own and have for "just in case" purposes.

Shall we talk about Ruby Ridge??

They won't have to go door to door. They will get kids to tell their doctors their parents have guns in the house.

Remember that insane Obama Rule?

It'll be more and more things like this to track guns. Then it'll be things like you are harassed at work for having them at home and you won't be able to get a job.

I don't know why anyone would downvote ANCs post.

I will add to that these "red flag" laws are pretty damn scary.

Everyone has seen, first hand or otherwise, how sinister people can be while going through a divorce, or when they are in a dispute with a neighbor etc. Not hard to imagine someone going to a secret tribunal out of spite.

Once a judge takes away your guns in an ex parte hearing, good luck getting them back.

No judge wants to be the guy who gives guns back only to have someone get shot an hour later.

The gun but back has gone disastrously in NZ. Of course, the govt and LE call that a success...

This article says only 225 guns turned in:

This article says 700 banned guns turned in initially but 500k remain:
