How much money does he have? What kind of car does he drive?

I would judge them currently, yes, absolutely.

But not 40 years later and with no evidence that the behavior continued.

That is just it. It wouldn't be my daughter.
I have 4 daughters and and none of them have ever been in an unsupervised situation where something like that could occur.

If we pretend the facts are different we can pretend it’s all ok. Or we can pretend it was a tree stump and not a girl, and that Roy Moore striped to his underwear and rubbed all over a tree stump. That isn’t illegal, is it?

Archonic shapeshifting Draconian lizard overlords. This is what we really should be discussing. Not a 30 year old screwing an 18 year old.

Well, we could always combine the subjects. I’m sure you could find a creepizoid lizard overlord hitting on young stuff. It’s actually a little less creepy in that context. Reptile gonna reptile.

That’s naive, there’s no way you can supervise them at all times.

Well in this thread I’m pretending. And let’s pretend the 30+ year old isn’t running for office but is just some regular guy.

Unfortunately it’s nit that simple - sexual assault is sexual assault whether she was 14 or 16.

We live in an age where every politicians acts and fabricated acts are scrutinized and publicized. My porobem with this is, one, most of us would have things in our past that would be viewed as unflattering if it was revealed, whether in words or deeds.
And two, my biggest problem of all, there is a huge double standard in the media over which candidates pasts gets exposed.

As a Dad, I wouldn’t want my 16 year old daughter hanging around 30 year old men.

But would I judge a person off these decisions that were legal at the time, and even perhaps the norm, 40 years later?

No. No, I would not.

I think that is a pretty widely held opinion (at least I hope it is).

The issue is the actions regarding the 14 year old. If that turns out to be true, I don't think you can out run that, no matter how old it is.

If you are a politician, this is the business you chose. No sympathy.

I can’t imagine what it is going to be like for kids now that choose to be politicians in the future.

Their entire lives are being documented on the internet.

It's going to be pretty bad for awhile until laws are passed regarding this stuff. I bet we'll see mandantory purge laws for stuff >10 or >20 years ago.

You can and we have.

This is true, there’s no fricking up, learning, and then moving on nowadays. The internet doesn’t forget.

That said in my opinion a 30+ year old making moves on a high schooler (even if we are assuming over the legal age of consent) isn’t just fricking up.

So is it your opinion that he isn’t fit for public office 40 years later? Or what?

And to me this shouldn’t be an issue because Roy Moore isn’t fit for public office just based off his retarded beliefs

You’re either mistaken or the world’s worst helicopter parent. I have kids and while I strive to be the best dad I can and am always there for them I don’t kid myself that I can monitor their every waking breathe, not without causing them to absolutely hate me that is.

Not my kids. None of them have twitter, facebook, snapchat, or any other Social Media.
