re: Susie Wiles: A disingenuously framed hit piece on me, the finest President, WH cabinet

Mrs. Wiles never explains why, for all that is reasonable and holy, she would even sit down with Vanity Fair for eleven interviews over the course of the year.
If you find yourself looking at this narrative engineering and saying, “WTF, why would she be so stupid?” You are not alone.
Perhaps it’s the old axiom that sooner or later the senior staff always convince themselves that they are the star of the show. Or perhaps Mrs. Wiles just never heard the Snake Poem

The White House is a stressful job and she begun venting to the reporter instead of her husband.
or she has absolutely no filter for a 68 yr old woman.
why the hell is she saying these things to anybody?
but the Ghislaine Maxwell detail is interesting

In a stunning revelation by one of Trump’s most trusted aides, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles told Vanity Fair that she had a “loose agreement” with Trump to end his “score settling” within 90 days of his inauguration.
However, the president continued with his agenda, she said, because a “governing principle for him is, ‘I don’t want what happened to me to happen to somebody else.’ And so people that have done bad things need to get out of the government.”
Wiles, who told the magazine that she read the files about the Epstein investigation, said she hadn’t seen anything indicating Trump had engaged in illegal activity with the convicted sex offender. Trump has also long denied having knowledge of — or participating in — Epstein’s crimes.
“[Trump] is in the file. And we know he’s in the file. And he’s not in the file doing anything awful,” Wiles told Vanity Fair. Trump “was on [Epstein’s] plane…he’s on the manifest. They were, you know, sort of young, single, whatever — I know it’s a passé word but sort of young, single playboys together.”
Wiles also told Vanity Fair that the president was upset by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s visit with Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell in Florida, after which she was moved to a less restrictive prison facility.
“The president was ticked,” she said to Vanity Fair. “The president was mighty unhappy. I don’t know why they moved her. Neither does the president.”

Seriously reads more like a James O'Keefe transcript than a series of interviews with a COS and a major publication

This bit actually doesn't paint the President in a bad light at all,
As for the manifest quote... I thought I read that whatever time Trump spent on the plane was with his own family members, too, basically hitching a ride. ???

Across more than 10 interviews, Wiles spoke frankly about working for Trump, saying the president “has an alcoholic’s personality,” despite being known as a teetotaler. She acknowledged the president’s appetite for revenge, conceding many of his second-term actions were driven by a desire for retribution. Wiles suggested Trump was pursuing regime change in Venezuela through his boat-bombing campaign, contradicting official justifications for the strikes. And she described several controversial areas where the president ignored her advice, including on deportations and pardons.
Just for reference this paragraph has one quote out of context and the rest is trust me bro.
Your post is full of this.

Was she interviewed by the Post or asked to comment on a piece they were running?
If she sat for an interview she's a dummy who hasn't learned anything.
Well, her interview in "Vanity Fair" was a real prize when she suggested that Donald Trump had the same personality as an alcoholic. I had not realized that her father was Pat Summerall...

Maybe give us some examples of presidents this century who have done more.
You seriously want to compare the last 11 months with 8 years of someone like Reagan, FDR or Obama?
Her statement was so hyperbolic it’s laughable.

It’s political rhetoric. Grow up and stop being so literal. For all his faults, what Trump has done in this term compares favourably to the terms of any recent president. I ask again: Who this century has done better?

I'm a loss on this
How is it possible she's that dumb, or if she had other motives, what could they possibly be?
This is the part that has me mystified. I don't really see the end game. But, in no way, shape or form, is Wiles dumb. She did this for some reason, though it seems hard to imagine what it could be.

Susie Wiles does not make unforced errors. Amazing she still has a job.

That's how people with TDS appear to normal people. When you guys say Trump has accomplished nothing or is starting WW3, it's laughable.
I guess hyperbole is only bad if it's not your side doing it.

Who this century has done better?
You keep wanting to compare 21st century presidents when her statement isn’t that. The last 11 months have not seen a boom in the economy. “No hire, no fire”. Hopefully that happens next year. Time will tell. So the accomplishments are what? The illegals getting kicked out? Okay, well that’s currently an incomplete grade but we’re certainly off to a good start and it should ramp up. Is inflation under control?? That depends on what we’re talking about. Did Russia make peace? Nope. Is Gaza being redeveloped? Nope. Are we getting income tax cuts due to tariffs? Nope. Federal employees that were laid off are now in the process of being rehired. Look, there’s a ton a BS floated out there amongst his victories.
If you want to compare the economic track record of the last 11 months versus Reagan’s 8 years… have fun with it.
Obama, for the absolute disaster he was, has a long list of accomplishments during his presidency. Please note that I do not equate accomplishments with good things. Hitler accomplished a lot. No one could deny it. But the man was pure evil as were his accomplishments. We have Obamacare that is crushing families. But it’s an accomplishment. He helped to further implode the Middle East with his foreign policy and lack of action. We have Gadaffi being taken out in Libya. The targeting of US civilians with drones. Racial politics taken to an absolute extreme that I’ve never seen in my 48 years but it brought out new voters and got them engaged. Giving money to Iran… “accomplishments”. And they all sucked but they were all consequential and helped shape our country and the world.

When have I said he accomplished nothing or started WW3? This is where you mess up. The difference between you and I is that I’ll point out where he screws up and you guys won’t admit to it or are very very reluctant to. He’ll get credit from me when he does well. When he doesn’t he won’t. I like most of his policies and his long term objectives but I maintain my objectivity and deal with him honestly. The tariffs being a good example of this. I’m not against tariffs but the way he implemented them directly hit our business. That increased costs to our clients because I’m not going to eat the additional costs. I would’ve preferred the tariffs being more targeted to bring home things like medicine manufacturing among others. Considering we sell apparel (and a whole lot more) the tariffs hit us and we have seen increases of 5-6% and more increases are on the way. But what our clients see if much higher than that.

So the accomplishments are what?
1. Closed and secured the borders. Something no president in the last 60 years has done.
2. For all the hand wringing, the tariffs have been successful. Good trade deals, massive revenue for the Treasury and minimal to no effect on prices.
3. Efforts to bring law and order to the cities. Something no other president has bothered to try.
I could go on and on. And are you actually holding up Obama? All I can do is laugh. How’s the ACA working out? Or the 2014 coup he ran against the duly elected government? Everything he touched turned to shite.
Posted on 12/16/25 at 4:59 pm to SloaneRanger
Good grief. Obama was a disaster. But he still has accomplishments that he and his supporters will point to. Not all “accomplishments” are good as I’ve stated. This really isn’t difficult. As far as your other points do you honestly want to hold those up as being greater than defeating nazi germany, the USSR, or the creation of the space program? Try and be serious.
