Where the frick have you been for the last 47 years?

As someone who was old enough to remember seeing our citizenry paraded around as hostages in Iran you are 100% full of shite.

And there are hundreds of other examples over the years...

hahahaha, going to the way back machine.... Look justify it anyway you want. If Biden did this you would be pissed and calling him a warmonger.

He wouldn't do it because Democrats support Iran.

Yesterday Iran launched 2 missiles at Israel and 2 drones.

None of them landed. What are you talking about?

But Iran is still able to conduct multiple missile and drone attacks per day on Israel and the Gulf states. The number of missiles in each barrage has diminished compared to the start of the war, yet Iran is still firing as many as 20 missiles a day at Israel in one or two-missile volleys. A Western official told journalists that Iran still can fire 15 to 30 ballistic missiles at all targets combined, and 50 –100 one-way attack drones per day. The Financial Times reported that on Friday, the UAE recorded the highest number of Iranian attacks since March 8 — eighteen ballistic missiles and four cruise missiles were fired on the country in a 24-hour period.

If you compare Iran's current capacity, output, and success rate, they are doing better now than they were on the 3rd day of the war (after the initial counter offensive was launched).

I doubt any Chinese oil is being held up unless the US is stopping it.

No. We've only been at this a month. The longer it goes on, the more it confirms that Iran is a dangerous enemy.

Don't their launch crews have a 50% mortality rate?

Not happy that this Proxy War in Iran is allowing China to attack US bases
There is another side of that coin.
This "proxy war" also allows us to assess effectiveness of Chinese technology.

I did see this coming. Russia has been regretting their war in Ukraine for years now.

This board thinks China is suffering bigly economically because their ally is being pummeled. But China’s military outposts aren’t being hit.

And giving China and excuse and a proxy to shell our bases is a bad trade off.

He wasn’t referring to you comrade. Lighten up. He means people that are proud to be Americans and don’t hate the country like you do.

Yes, we are assessing the damage to our bases and learning that we cannot house troops there.

I saw that Troops from key installations, such as Prince Sultan Air Base and Al Udeid Air Base, have been moved to hotels and office spaces.

Another reason this war was stupid from the beginning.

Many would say that trying to "reign in Israel" and "continue negotiations with Iran" would have been stupid. Especially the negotiations with Iran part. Seems to me you'd have more success trying to staple a chunk of jello to a wall.

Yeah, that was a benefit to the US.

A gift that Russia provided.

Now we’re giving a gift like that to China.

I'm open to being wrong here, but I think Russia is somewhat aligned with Iran out of necessity. Or maybe a better way of saying it is they're aligned "begrudgingly" from Russia's viewpoint.

And that's our fault, IMO. I think Russia is ripe for a mutually respectful relationship with the US, if not a fully peaceful one. Our two countries have a lot more to offer one another. And frankly, I believe their population has values that are more aligned with ours than pretty much all of western Europe.

Define "attack". It appears to me that you are wrong. They have purposefully supported their terrorist proxy groups like the Houthis, Hezbollah and others. They have attempted assininations and funneled money to groups in this country who want to thwart anything that might prevent their ultimate goal. They killed upwards of 30,000 of their own people, many of which had relatives in this country.
Someone had to do something. The only thing required for evil to prosper is for good people to sit idly by and do nothing.

China's oil is passing through. So is France. It's the Iranians gift to France for not getting involved.

Also, we need to get the hell outta NATO

Possibly. Hell, even probably.

Because Biden (and likely any other president) would have gone about this whole thing in a much different manner. The major driver of any decision Biden (or his handlers) would have made would have been political ramifications, rather than ensuring through any possible means that military success and objectives were achieved.

It's rather obvious Trump has said "to hell with the politics". Trump is doing what he believes is right for our country. In turn, we the people reserve the right to play armchair QB when it's all over and decide if it was indeed the right thing and whether it was worth it or not.

That was done before hostilities began, and in conjunction with acknowledgments that military strikes on Iran from those bases would not occur. Those announcements were openly publicized, to emphasize that any targeting of bases was a targeting of their Middle East neighbors, not of the US military.
