Didn’t today’s first already drop, about veterans being able to sue gvt agencies for discrimination?

yes... SCOTUS released 2 opinions today... the 1 you're talking about is Torres v. Texas Department of Public Safety

saving 2 for tomorrow... the last 2 big ones... Biden v. Texas & West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency

I don’t get dragging it out. I hope they don’t “punt” … these agencies have to be curtailed.

Could this have any affect on congress delegating their authority to print money to the fed?

If the speculation about Roberts writing WV are true they will punt. They are either ruling in favor of the government or it will be an extremely narrowly issued opinion for WV.

like they've already made the educated guess that Roberts should be writing West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency
That is discouraging.

TIL the definition of Punting is rewriting everything and getting it entirely wrong again.

It’s absolutely insane that our government EVER allowed bureaucratic orgs to create legislation.

Just a bunch of unelected career government employees making rules.

Nuts

I have had a crazy arse day with my day job - but I’m just chiming in to say -

Met a deadline in a sprint and heading out for dinner and (probably several) cocktails.

I agree Gregg Phillips - and will see you Baws tomorrow.

(But I agree with the rest of you - Roberts could frick up a one man parade- so I’m thinking they may punt- but maybe, just maybe, they sprinted out of town bc they aren’t scared of bunch of fat girls with unnaturally colored hair and excessive tattoos walking around in their underwear- but instead - they’re avoiding the Deep State as it reacts to a nuclear bomb dropped upon it)

God willing if the creek don’t rise! Will be at the ready 9am CST!!

Not surprising at all. Gorusch is big proponent of Indian sovereignty and holding the U.S. accountable for historical agreements with tribes. His dissent in this case is blistering. You can also read McGirt to get an even better understanding of his view in these cases.

His dissent is really interesting and much stronger, in my opinion. A good read. The Court got this one wrong.

(BUMP) Since the two big decisions were postponed a day are you going to re-use this thread, or start a new one?
