"Segregation"? This might be one of the most ignorant statements ever made on this board. Segregation occurs when you are NOT ALLOWED TO do something. Everyone can apply to Harvard -- black, white, hispanic, Asian, rich, poor, etc. And, there is no greater advantage one can have than growing up in a wealthy family. Yet, I'd bet that the poorest kids on these campuses are the Asian students.
Of course, this points out one of the fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives -- Conservatives believe in equality of opportunity whereas demented and deranged liberals believe in equality of results.

The colleges are already trying to do an end run on this issue by simply “doing away with” admissions testing. Testing doesn’t measure the true capabilities and the various glorious life experiences of the applicants.

AA was always unconstitutional, choosing winners & losers -- a clear and blatant violation of the 14th Amendment.

And, 10-20 years from now we'll go back and "discover" that the only kids who were admitted without turning in their SATs were the black kids. And, of course, it will be black kids from upper middle and upper class families who went to exclusive private schools because even the racist scum that runs these schools realize that kids from inner city government schools would never have a chance to pass at these schools -- even in bullsh!t made-up curricula like African-American studies that they like to "persuade" their "diversity students" to major in.
I'm sure it will all be just a coincidence, of course.

2) China buys politicians. We know how they want this trend to go
3) court is 4/3 conservative/liberal plus two leaning conservative.
If they wanted to add admission on disadvantaged on the basis of socio-economic basis, they can achieve close to the same results but eliminating the basis of race

The problem is that Asians and whites would fill those "socio-economically disadvantaged" spots more than the black students that they currently admit with "less than" credentials.

Seems like Roberts has actually been quite anti-Affirmative action. Might the conservatives finally be able to overturn this?
One thing I don’t get is how Harvard says it doesn’t discriminate, but then goes on to say that if Affirmative Action wasn’t a thing their enrollment of AAs and other minorities would be cut in half.
