alienating manufacturing “super powers”
That's exactly how things in the real world work.

Weird considering the primary vehicle of taxation, really for the first century of the nation, was tariffs

Yeah cause economics hasn’t changed at all since the 1700s - give me a break you jackass. I suppose we should go back to using the barter system too? Stupid Trump, he can’t do anything right

When trade was more of a zero sum game, which its not now.

The founding fathers started this country in response to overburdening tariffs from the British crown.
The founding fathers were interested in growing this country. Not shipping our industries and jobs overseas.
We regulate our companies to death then let them go to countries who do not care about DEI, pollution, HR, slave labor etc. It makes no sense. Because we do that the field needs to be levelled with tariffs.
Regulation and Taxes are Tarriffs on our own companies.

Exactly
We cannot compete if they do not have to follow our burdensome regulations and taxes.

Do you get tired of posting dumb shite?
Telling this your Low IQ without directly telling us repeatedly with your poorly thought out posts.
You do realize that we were getting hammered in trade deals all around the world!
You do realize that we have become dependent on other countries for necessities, don’t you!
So tell me what part of losing our manufacturing industries & capabilities was good policy for Americans?
What part of depending on China for medicine is a good policy for Americans?
I can go on and on to show why the trade deals were horrible for the average American, and these alone was reason to adjust trade deals to where we get a better position or we start manifesting again.
Bringing jobs back is alone the #1 outcome of the trade deals. And clowns like you can’t fathom how much we have been sold out by previous leaders.

Interesting. I recall North Carolina’s tier system for economic stress continues to be a “weird” policy, considering it hasn’t worked in over 10 years and some counties have even regressed tiers.

None of the current parties PAYING tariffs to the US are any happier about it than were the colonists who were PAYING tariffs to the crown. In that case, the US was the party paying. Now the US is the party receiving payments.

Tariffs were implemented almost as soon as the US declared independence. The founding fathers weren’t fundamentally anti tariffs.

Naaah.. he's just cut trillions from fraud, waste and abuse while bringing in hundreds of billions from Tariffs. Not a big deal at all - Just keep on doing the exact same old shite though!

The Founding Father’s had no idea our elected politicians would perform treason and sell out our own citizens, sending all our manufacturing to China for kick backs.
Those same Fathers would be MAGA AF

America also had a revolution over taxes of a few percent here, and a few percent there.
Teh America the founding fathers envisioned is dead.
The election yesterday is like the Barbary pirates sacking NYC, without firing a shot.
You actually believe referencing the founding fathers will move anywhere near a majority to do anything?
