Then they should stay home or use more precaution.... or decide if the risk is worth it to them personally.

There are far more Americans younger than 50 and most are ready to get back on with their lives.

What do you say to the teachers who are over 50 and would be congregating in classrooms with 20 or so kids 5-6 hours a day?

Stay home if you are that big of a pussy. Look at the statistical data. Kids rarely get this thing, and if they do they rarely ever pass it on, have symptoms, and never die.

you believe the experts, no they can't spread it with any type of significance.

experts?

Trumpy nonsense.

every infected person spreads it the same ways.
cough
sneeze
shout
sing
touch.

kids shout, cough, sneeze and are way less apt to cover up a sneeze.

Dr. Scott Atlas: Too much hysteria over school reopenings

Dr. Scott Atlas argues your points CelticDog.

"Of course we can have school, everyone in the western world is doing it. Why? Because
#1) Science says 99.97% of deaths are over 15 yrs old.
2) Flu is much worse for children
3) Risk of bad illness of covid < Flu
4) Virtually 0 risk of dying
5) Risk to teachers.. Half of teachers are under 41 years old & not high risk.
6) Harms to the children for closing schools.
7) Kids do not significantly transmit to adults, even without social distancing and without masks.
8) Science says from Iceland, Sweden, France, UK, Australia, Canada - Everywhere in Western World has shown that children do not transmit significantly to adults even to parents.
9) Only Western Country not opening schools
10) Zero reason or excuse not to have school open and in person.
11) Toronto recommends school without masks
12) A Small minority of children at risk, they also have same risks for flu because flu is worse for them.
13) Flu transmits easily from kids to adults and teachers
14) Covid does not
15) If teachers can't work during covid, then they should also stay home for Flu season which is worse"

For instance for Ages 0-49, the states of Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, N. Carolina, S. Carolina, and Texas all have a case fatality rate that ranges from 0.11% up to 0.32%.... for an average of 0.19%.

I think the more relevant statistic is the total number of deaths in those states divided by the total number of cases in those states rather than an average of their fatality rates.

Or even more relevantly, there’s been fewer then 20 deaths of children under 19 across the country with or from Coronavirus.

Well we have burned down cities with lower numbers.

This is all about money and politics. It is ridiculously obvious.

And lawyers.
And stupid virtue signaling parents.
And social media.

We’re unrecognizable as a country from even 5 years ago.

You mean teachers like me? I would say to them, “Get your arse to work, retire, or resign.”

But for those who are healthy, they shouldn't be forced to e-learn (such as in LA and SD counties), and kindergartners shouldn't be forced to wear masks and stay 6' apart.

We're in L.A. County and my niece is enrolled in Catholic school. She'll be in kindergarten this year. Her school is starting on 8/26 as scheduled. Parents who don't feel comfortable sending their kids back, there will be an e-learn option.

Grades 3 and up are masks optional, but you have to provide and show your kid how to use it. K - 2, no masks.

My niece went to an in-person camp at her new school and it was great. No problems at all. This little bugger will be going to school on 8/28 unless Newsom mandates that ALL schools close. In which case the Diocese might try to figure out a way around it.

A public meeting in Utah about a mask policy for schoolchildren was abruptly adjourned when people without masks packed the room.

"This is the exact opposite of what we need to be doing," Utah County Commissioner Tanner Ainge said of the meeting in Provo.

Well if they feel vulnerable then we'll pay them to stay home. A lot cheaper than wrecking the entire economy.

Also, if we were to fix our federal dietary guidelines and get people off the sugar, the CFR would be a LOT lower for all demos.

Or just be an anti-scientific, anti-American bitch. You're still free to do that, and that freedom is one of a handful not currently being attacked. Have at it.

About the same number of school bus passengers die in a year as people under 19 have died from or with Covid.
