Guess we’ll see. But targeted legislation has been passed before. If I were the dem leadership, I’d whip votes for this one issue which has broad support across the population. No one likes corruption except the corrupt.

My guess is there was a poison pill attached to that bill. It’s always the case. Dems do this too. Put something in the bill that they can’t vote for in addition to the anti-stock trading regulations so you can generate headlines like this. It’s purely performative.
Also everyone knows this is going on, it’s extremely common. do you not?

Well if they do manage to pass some anti-corruption legislation, it should ensure that neither party grifts as readily as before and I reckon that’s good.

Yeah, that's never going to happen. Trump, DOGE & Elon have uncovered billions in fraud that's gone unchecked in the name of "business as usual" in the imperial federal government. The D Party isn't passing a damned thing that they can't profit off of as they use the US Treasury as their personal ATM.

Oh yeah. Once Trump is a lame duck with an opposition party in charge of Congress the rinos will be emboldened to crawl out from under their rocks.
We will have to watch them preen about as they claim to know whats best for the Republican party and its likely to be someone like themselves thats able and willing to work with "both sides" which we all know means surrendering to Democrats, but they will most assuredly tell us we dont known what's best for us and that we are cult members for wanting the border secure and everyone deported.

only way congress can override a POTUS veto is getting 67 votes in the senate or 290 votes in the house.
