So you're asking people to disprove your anecdotal observations?

Lol, it's almost like there is a reason other countries get upset when we put a tariff on them . The old it's just a tax on the American consumer is so overplayed.....Importers don't have to import if they don't get a good price and if the product isn't worth the increase, Americans aren't going to pay. It just seems to be over most people's head or against what their party tells them . If American corporations are actually getting hit for some/most of all of this, they are ok with it because Trump is lowering their corporate taxes (significantly). Trump is setting up the ERS and strangling the IRS. You would think most would be happy about it, but leftists, who don't want to pay taxes, definitely want YOU to pay taxes.

I paid $2.31 a gallon for gasoline this morning and I purchase 15-16 gallons a week just for my commute to work.

I think most gasoline is domestically produced. It shouldn't have a tariff.

How about factoring in all the tarrifs we were paying that have gone to zero for both countries.

Really? No shite sherlock. The point is, MY President has lowered gasoline prices from $3.60 or so a gallon to $2.31. That 1.30 a gallon equates to roughly $25 a week for my commute to work. I'm saving way more on gas than I'm spending extra on any increase caused by tariffs.

Yahoo Finance eh?

Yahoo needs to change their name to Pravda 2.0. Even their sports coverage is as biased and agenda-driven as it gets.

I'm expressing my personal experience on the issue. We were told in April by you tariff goobers that prices were going out the roof, the economy would tank and the stock market would crash. None of that happened...

Why would that have anything to do with inflation?

This is basically non existent.

This was always about revenue. Trump has a universal baseline tariff on almost all imports.

I really don't care about your life story. The question was "have tariffs increased the price of any goods?" Not all the above bullshite you're loading into it to cover for the fact that all you have are anecdotal experiences.

I don't think I will.

Is it your assertion that tariffs have not affected the price of goods?

Well here is just one, there are dozens if you care to look......

quote:

Volkswagen has reported that U.S. import tariffs, particularly those imposed by the Trump administration in 2025, have significantly impacted its financial performance, contributing to a €1.3 billion ($1.5 billion) hit to operating profit in the first half of the year

If you read their details, its due to discounts to dealers in the US so they can then use that discount to pay the tariffs.

So when they say American companies pay for it they do........with the money the foreign suppliers give them.

Simple question, if American consumers would gladly pay more for a product......why havent all the companies raised the prices 100%, apparently some of you people with no knowledge of price elasticity, and less of foreign trade.....would gladly pay it
