STUDY: 70% of felons register as democrats after they are released

The authors, professors from the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University, found that in some states, felons register Democratic by more than six-to-one. In New York, for example, 61.5 percent of convicts are Democrats, just 9 percent Republican. They also cited a study that found 73 percent of convicts who turn out for presidential elections would vote Democrat.
But despite recent moves in states to notify convicts that they can vote again, the study finds little evidence that they do, undercutting Democratic efforts to get them to the polls.

Without reading but making an educated guess; I’d say this is related to % of felons being African American.

Once you commit a felony you know you are surrendering your constitutional right to vote. There is no serving your debt to society where you get that back. I don’t want felons having any say how this country is run

And why wouldn't felons vote Dem...?
Old Republican grannies want to put everyone away for life because she's gonna get raped without her life alert.
(the idea that you can't vote because you committed one of the 1,000,000 crimes on the books in the USA is absurd.)
Misdos have become jaywalking, every other offense is now a felony. We all probably commit at least two felonies a day if you go to work or maybe smoke cigs or hunt or play golf.
18 USC §1865 & 36 CFR §7.96(b)(3) make it a federal crime to harass a golfer in any national park in Washington, DC.
Or hang out with Mike Leach:
18 U.S.C. §1657 makes it a federal crime to consult with a known pirate.
Or remove your inhibition to skydive:
49 U.S.C. §46316(a) & 14 C.F.R. §105.7(a) make it a federal crime to skydive while drunk.
Or fart in the Pentagon:
10 U.S.C. §2674(c)(3) & 32 C.F.R. §234.7(c) make it a federal crime to willfully make an unreasonable noise at the Pentagon.
Our laws are absurd, everything but breathing is illegal. (although that is now coming under attack. We are polluting the environment by breathing.)
