I think the BIG DROP comes when tax reform bills are introduced: personal, capital gains, corporate, etc.

And it will come!

I guess most of you were not invested in 2008. I made my most then by staying put and continuing to contribute. Time the market? Good luck with that. Also, gold can go down in value like any investment can.

Is that what Edward Jones is saying?

What a prediction! The stock market will drop at some point? Are you sure?

It really feels like the same cheering for the stock market to drop that happened under Trump.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

Dude the stock market runs on cash, we are fixing to pump 1.9 TRILLION dollars into the economy. Yes, it is worthless paper, but 1.9 trillion and interest rates at 0? The market is going nowhere.

Now, if we ever, ever ever decide to take our medicine, it is going to be a shitstorm of epic proportions. Like jumping out of buildings, eating dirt kinda shite. Not a 200 point dip that will be back positive by 11AM

People should understand that the "stock market" comprises the equity shares in a shrinking number of publicly traded companies.

The capital market - bonds - dwarfs the size of the stock market by several orders of magnitude. With interest rates cheap, companies will issue corporate bonds instead of more stock to raise capital for growth.

FWIW.

I bought 401k shares for around $108 a share for most of 2009. They are now well over $350. The recession of 2008 did my 401K a ton of good.

OP is a financial moron, a market decline of 0.6% is absolutely nothing.

I’ve already reallocated my 401K.

I'm sitting 50/50......holding pattern. My gut tells me with more stimulus and the continuation of ZIRP the markets may rise a few more percent before rolling over Q3/4
