So how do you explain the millions of Chinese, that were born into the most secular, atheistic nation there is? Please explain this, since you are so intelligent.

I don;t and more importantly CAN'T hate a thing in which I do not believe. As usual, you're projecting.

I believe that these are your true feelings. Your posts in this thread support that.

If not, then your stated position is that you are a victim to self. It's takes a real warped view to not accept responsibility in that scenario.

we all know that liberals can't operate in the arena of ideas. All their arguments are based on feelings, that's why they hate the constitution. It's almost criminal that he would actually post that statement. There's a saying "a mind is a terrible thing to waste"

You sound angry and offended. Why so touchy?? Seems irrational, imo.

More “Christian” hypocrisy.
Where, exactly, is the hypocrisy in my statement?

quote:

You really think he will be punished for not believing in god?
Yes. The Bible is clear on this. Jesus said He is the only way to God. Those who do not know Jesus won't find God, or rather, they won't find God's eternal love in Heaven. They will only find His wrath.

quote:

That’s not what I learned from 12 years of catholic school and a lifetime of going to church.
It sounds like your school and church(es) have done you a great disservice if after so long a time you still don't understand the Gospel. If you still attend a Christian church, I urge you to ask the pastor/priest about Jesus' message about salvation.

quote:

My guess is you read the Bible literally
The Bible contains the truth written in various styles. Some of it is historical and should be taken literally. Some of it is poetry and should be considered as teaching a point in a way that shouldn't be taken literally. The context determines how to read the Bible.

quote:

and don’t believe in dinosaurs ??.
Believe that they existed? Of course I do. Nothing in the Bible requires me to reject the existence of dinosaurs.

quote:

Probably think heaven is a certain size
I'm not sure if it has a certain size or not not but I assume you're talking about the dimensions given in Revelation. John wrote the book to have a lot of symbolism and I don't think the dimensions of Heaven are meant to be taken literally. The context determines such.

quote:

we are the only intelligent life in the universe
I believe that angelic beings exist and have intelligence, so I reject this (literal) statement. However, I assume you're talking about other created beings and life on other planets. I don't think it's necessary to believe that life only exists on earth but it seems clear that only humans are made in the image of God.

quote:

and we were created in 7 days. SAD!
I actually do believe this one.

I really only see this sort of dismissal from one side. If you truly think that hundreds of millions of people can't operate because they don't share your political view then the debate is over and you took your ball and went home. Both sides have people who can function fine and both sides have good ideas. There's nothing more to say when someone starts with "blank believes this therefor they can't even think"

The bible is clear that we Christians should admire a man who is willing to kill his child because god said so.

Mostly agree. Hair might have been longer. He wasn't white with brown hair and blue eyes, that's for sure.

Nobody knows what the truth is. You had people who were alive during Biblical times that were halfway around the world that believed something totally different than what Christians were teaching. These people didn't even know the other existed. In biblical times something as simple as a wheelbarrow would have been a technological marvel. Christians were confined to a small area and were totally unaware of the existing world around them.

You essentially have 5 groups of people who all believed in a different 'god' and were taught different beliefs and none of them knew the others even existed. They all can't be 'right'. The chances even one of those groups is 'right' is very slim to none
I disagree that Christians (generally speaking) didn't know that other groups existed. By the time of Jesus, Rome's reach was vast and there was trade with all sorts of people. Jews from other countries would go to Jerusalem for feasts. Regardless, your point stands in that Christians were a relatively small group of people with an exclusive view of religion that wasn't shared by others. This is actually immaterial to whether or not what they believed was/is true.

You're also right that there were differences in religious faith that precludes all of them from being correct. The law of non contradiction doesn't allow for the contradictory beliefs of different religions to all be true at the same time and in the same sense, so either all of them are wrong, or only one is right, but all can't be right.

Serious question. Do you think arguing about Christianity on the internet will help your chances of getting to heaven?

"divine virgin birth is literally the only thing that makes Jesus noteworthy in any way, its the entire foundation of Christianity. without it he's just a guy.

and yet the letters from Paul, the oldest work in the NT and our first source for Jesus, makes no mention of it. he never talks about any miracles or coming back from the dead either."

I suggest that you read I Corinthians 15
