quote:They can say whatever they like. They reject Jesus as God and as the only way to salvation so they will perish in their sins if they don't repent.
Said every mullah everywhere...
quote:Not true. You don't have to agree with or accept something in order to hate it. I've heard countless times from atheists and non-Christians that the God of the Bible is evil, malicious, capricious, and infantile with His passions and cruel with His punishments. They hate what the Bible teaches. If the Bible is true about God (I believe it is), then these same people really do hate God even though they don't believe He exists. I imagine you fall into this category.
I don;t and more importantly CAN'T hate a thing in which I do not believe.
quote:What am I projecting? I don't have a hatred for God that I'm projecting on others.
As usual, you're projecting.

quote:Abram (Abraham) also had faith that God would bring him back to life. Abraham was justified by his faith, and that's something to be admired by Christians.
The bible is clear that we Christians should admire a man who is willing to kill his child because god said so.

Agree or disagree that this is likely what Jesus looked like.
Thats racist. Right along the lines of "They all look alike", and "Some of my best friends are black".
That said..what is the way he looked have to do with anything? Serious question...what point were you shooting for?

Appears you've confused yourself into a false belief. I thought that kind of thing was repellent to atheists?

Have you ever contributed something useful to a debate? I'm dead serious

Ask like 400 inane questions until you just give up.
Then say you're "confused"
ETA: inb4 "you're confused"

Just what a true believer might say.

quote:Not at all. It's not a matter of "chance" to me. I trust in Christ's works for my salvation, not my own.
Serious question. Do you think arguing about Christianity on the internet will help your chances of getting to heaven?
I discuss Christianity on the internet for a few reasons:
1) It helps me understand what I believe as well as what others believe.
2) I want to help educate people on what the Bible actually teaches. There have been a lot of people who have been done a great disservice by their family, schools, and churches for not teaching them adequately from the Bible.
3) Most importantly, I want to share the Gospel with the lost, out of desire and because I've been commanded to do so by God in the scriptures.

Just a couple of questions for you that study the bible, and believe the bible is the only book you need for your journey through life, or the tool you need to convert a nonbeliever into a believer.
I'd answer, but your criteria doesn't apply to me.

A lot of personal questions.
quote:Christianity, though I suppose you mean "denomination". I'll just say I'm of the Reformed persuasion.
What religion do you identify in?
quote:I was taught the Bible from an early age but didn't take it seriously or start studying on my own until my late teens.
What age did you start studying the bible in this religion?
quote:I've never identified with any other religion than Christianity.
Have you always identified with your current religion? or did you convert from another religion sometime in your life?

Yes. Many times.
Why are you so angry? Atheists are always angry about something. Got an empty spot in your life?

It's sad to think after all that he accomplished on earth that he neglected the one thing that matters: trust in Jesus Christ's atoning work on the cross. Unless he had a deathbed conversion (doubtful), he's begun his eternity of punishment for his rebellion against almighty God.
How awful it must be going through life genuinely believing this.

quote:
Why would they in other religions not feel the same as you?
If you think your theory is correct, why are there so many converting to Christianity in China? How many generational Christians are there in a nation that has been predominantly secular/atheistic communist? Do you think they believe because they have read the original Hebrew? Most only have one or two pages of a Bible.
When people seek God, he meets them right where they are at. And when someone has an experience with Him, there is no way you can deny it. These people only have limited access to a Bible or even Church, but yet there is something in their spirit that makes them believe. I hate the freaking argument that a person believes because of his parents or grand parents or where a person lives.
Everybody will have the chance to hear the Gospel and the opportunity to accept the message of salvation. It's then up to that person to make the choice.

quote:It would probably be awful to live life without real hope, but I can't really identify with that as I have an eternal hope. I'm very content with my life and don't think it's "awful" to believe in a just and loving God who punishes sin yet saves sinners.
How awful it must be going through life genuinely believing this.
