Mike - After the black panther review I came away with the impression that he wasn't.

I mean, I like Black Panther just fine. Didn’t deserve the Oscar nomination, and Infinity War was certainly the superior film made by Marvel that year, but I’d give it 3 out of 4 stars. Middle of the pack for a Marvel movie for me.

It is, and it's really good, just sucks the last episode aired in 2019 and they aren't going after season 3, it's a great show and has more trek spirit than Discovery and Picard combined.

I saw it, too. Felt about as strong as... Iron Man 3? The political shite was hamfisted, but was nowhere near as insufferable as the reviews championing its 'importance.' I kept hearing how important it was like it was Schindler's List or something. Unfortunately RLM drank a bit of the kool-aid too.

Iron Man 3 is a bottom feeder of the MCU. I’d probably rank it around the first Captain America movie or Antman personally.

Fair enough. Yeah, Captain America 1 is probably the better comparison. Either way, it wasn't what everyone at the fricking AVClub said it was going to be.

I mean, if we could send her 500-600 years into the future to be Earth President, that is a win. Screw those future people.

You'd think that actual Trekkies would resent something like this, but I'd guess they're such huge beta cucks that they eagerly gobble it up.

They’ve been a long abused fanbase. The average Trekkie these days is a middle aged drunk that has become quite cynical to the world that they hoped for and Star Trek has promised. After Tolkienites, Trekkies would probably be the smartest and most respected of the fanbases (and certainly the most beloved with the fanbase inspiring the making of the great comedy Galaxy Quest) and have the most intricate knowledge of the material, but as Ace pointed out most of the Star Trek fans think the franchise died in 2009.

Pretty sure Jay and Rich lean left. I think Mike is center right.

None of them like PC/wokeness (although, their hostility isn't to Drinker levels).

She's still a fatass in the distant future so at least we know there won't be a famine.

United Earth Space Queen might get eventually taken down by clogged arteries if she’s not careful.
