Have you considered talking to your daughter about these issues and encouraging her to think critically rather than just pulling her out? She will face many more attempts at indoctrination in her life and you won't always be there.
Yes, we’ve had discussions about all of it, the various topics, etc. She sees through the bullshite. Keeping her home is more of a passive protest against the school as many parents will be doing the same along with many sending letters, etc..

What’s the tuition at SJA?

I spoke to a few high school girls a few weeks ago. 3 still go to St. Josephs, 2 transferred out.
The 2 that transferred out left because the environment was extremely liberal (both politically and with an undercurrent of anti-religion).
The three that are still there agreed that it was very liberal. They said the faculty is completely liberal and actively say things that characterized conservativism as bad.
The two that left said that while that was bad, what was worse (and was the reason they left) was that the student body kind of shamed those that weren't overtly liberal.
What they described very much resembled the anti-conservatism movement we see at liberal colleges. All 5 girls are smart and come from good families. But, I think the 2 that left are going to be exceptional students and professionals. They saw straight through the bullshite.
I was told they had at least one or two open communist teachers a few years ago. I remember my buddy's kid telling us about the wild shite they were preaching. It can be summarized as Republicans = Bad, Democrats = Good.
SJA is a great academic school, but their left-wing indoctrination has entered full-swing. I'd be pulling my kid if she went there.

To correct disparity caused by generational wealth, the white kids should consider going to a community college instead of a 4 year university to make room for minorities.
If only there were black colleges for these minorities to attend.

As the father of an 11 year old, it certainly opened my eyes.
The part about the culture among the students that has evolved, putting social pressure on the kids for their beliefs really bothered me.

for some parents, it's too late

St. Joseph's a very large school.
Certainly there must be people here whose kid is in that school right now.
I'd love to hear if they could confirm the extreme leftist culture in the school and whether or not their daughters have been affected.

So
SJA needs for the parents to pay for the neighborhood young ladies to go to SJA.
They can also just open it up as a public school with no restrictions.
The police should not provide security to any school events, school, and the area around the school during school hours.
Let’s see how long people send their kids to SJA when the area is close to the hood.
Or
Maybe they should just shut the school down as it is a private school full of white privilege.
Parents pay so their child gets a great education with no distractions from poor and the other distractions some kids going to low preforming public schools would cause.
Everything SJA is preaching to the young ladies to be against is 110% what they are.

Freshman have theirs scheduled for Friday, so I told the wife to check our daughter out of school before the training.
Is that your poor spelling and grammar, or is that straight from the school?
If it's from the school, maybe you should check her out for good.
If it's from you... well...

I have one who will be there next year. Between her mouth and my mouth, it should be an interesting four years.

I hope all of you with children at the school stop giving them a dime. That school has quietly turned into a liberal haven over the last decade. There is a lot of indoctrination happening in those classrooms.
Here's the funny part. People like the OP believe that sending their child to a school like St Joe's means they won't have to put up with the "liberal indoctrination" they claim occurs in "government" schools.
Meanwhile, the public schools in our area don't have any of these "trainings" for students.
People like the OP are actually paying 10K plus a year to get more liberal indoctrination than they would get going to a public school.

I don't find indoctrination funny at all.

But this is Baton Rouge, so you are really only paying 10K plus for your kid to get an education. Not much education going on in the BR public schools.

I find it funny when you run from one alleged place of it, to one absolute place of it.
Tragic funny, but still funny.

Some but this is being over exaggerated. Great school. There is no equal. That being said I am not happy about this BS. It is a great opportunity for me to teach my daughter how to filter through propaganda. Unfortunately this is part of our societ.

quote:yeah, that's why there are not as many minorities in college, no room. Oddly, going to community college is great advice, get your core stuff out of the way and not go massively in debt. Or go to trade school and make bank when your contemporaries are racking up $150k in debt they won't pay off until they are 45
